////////Ropepoint had won best ensemble two years in a row, best tv-drama, and several other awards for the show itself and the individual actors. However, after careful consideration, the Hale family announced the cancellation of Ropepoint, feeling that it was time to wrap the project up. The ratings hadn't staggered to the point where the new episodes were scheduled to be released on the Friday night death slot, but it was time to draw the series to a close. Lydia was partially the reason why the Hale family made this decision. After she disclosed to Derek that she wouldn't be signing onto another season because of the pregnancy and since she felt like she needed to start a new chapter of her life, he didn't really see the point of continuing.
He wasn't willing to lose another actor after Jackson, Malia, and Stiles left. Their departures made the show lose its spark. It lost its heart. Yes, new characters were created to try and fill the void, but they were irreplaceable.
Thus, Derek had mentioned to Malia, Jackson, and Stiles that the show would be going off the air soon, inviting them back for one last hoorah. They all agreed, leading to the sleep-deprived, energy buzzing writers taking a week in a half to revise the scripts for the first five episodes when they were scheduled to film the first episode not long after. Whilst the Hale family said that they could manage writing an additional five to fabricate the perfect end by themselves.

For the opener of the last season, Stiles and Lydia were on set taking about three to four hours to fully film the scene.
When Dani answered the front door to her surprise Landon was there. Landon was back and in the flesh standing at her doorstep. A look of disbelief shifted to elation as her arms latched around his neck, causing him to drop his bags. "I thought you said you weren't coming back?" Dani breathed into his chest, before pulling away.
Landon shoved his hand in his pockets. "My dad forced me. He wouldn't let me touch my savings account to go somewhere else. This town is most definitely hard coming back to after everything that's happened with my mom, but then I remembered that you and Matt were here, so it made it easier." Landon half smiled at her, he had changed. He had some stubble on his chin and his eyes were less despondent and puffy compared to the day he left.
Dani folded her arms across her chest, covering herself with her robe. "How long are you staying for?"
"Until the end of senior year. Then I'm hoping to be accepted to Boston University in the fall, I want to major in engineering."
"I applied there too. I want to teach," she informed, causing him to grin.
"You'd be perfect for that," he truthfully responded. They were both nervous that the other could hear their heart pounding through their ribcage.
Maybe this was their second chance. Then Dani began shaking her head, asking, "what happened to us? I feel like I've been so disconnected from you since we left. Hell, I don't think I've texted you since six months after you left."
Landon placed his hands in his pockets. "Well, you live in the town that never sleeps. There's always something going on. Besides, I stopped too. My dad sent me to this retreat after the therapists weren't really helping."
"I'm sorry to hear that." A moment of silence struck their conversation as he didn't respond, so Dani changed the topic. "Where are you staying in town?" Dani asked curiously.
