The Stilinski-Martin clan had become inseparable since the abduction of Stiles. Yes, there were projects filmed and tours out of LA, but for the most part, the couple was together more.Stiles had only recently ended his four-year hiatus on the silver screen, as he needed to not only take a break from filming, but he also wanted to focus on therapy, family, and friends. These past few years, his main focus was on the people he loves the most in his life. Needless to say, he realized just how precious the people in his life were, and he was afraid to lose them. To channel his feelings, Stiles created a solo album. He didn't even know he had it in him, but once he wrote down lyrics and found a beat, he had done it.
His album was fittingly titled, Not The End. He wrote four songs by himself, collaborated four, and was given two. The first single that was released was titled, Clouded Doors, which immediately soared to the top twenty on iTunes. It had a tempo similar to The Neighbourhood's music, with the exception of the last line of the chorus and the bridge that unleashed his anger with a curse word. The song was about how Stiles was tied down and how he tried to escape:
Clouded doors where'd you leave the key?
I saw you guessing leaving me knee deep
Locked wails that could be heard
But no one said a fucking wordI know my family is miss'en me
"Sti, we need to tend to our tree"
But how could any hope prevail
When I'm rott'en in fucking jailIn short, his album was very emotional and personal as he was physically and emotionally drained him writing it. His album allowed him to unleash his feelings and thoughts. He would scream and cry, break things, and at times he would even smile. He was grateful that he had seen another day. It was the best therapy form of therapy for Stiles, and he was proud of the work he accomplished.
He titled-slashed-dedicated a song after each of his children, his friends, his brother, his father, and his wife, seeing as they were all a part of his world. He wrote one song about healing, and another on his aspirations for the future. Overall, the album was very wholesome and Stiles won a Grammy, highlighting how impactful and successful his album was.
Meanwhile, Lydia kept busy with her film career. She even tried her hand at directing, a role that she enjoyed. Most likely her interest had to do with the fact that she felt empowered bossing people around, as she found herself in a position of control to make her visions come to life.
Nevertheless, her interest in directing didn't stop her from acting. However, with Stiles' reluctance to be away from his family and friends, she decided to only take acting jobs that were shot in a twenty-mile radius from LA. With the exception of filming only a week in a different state or country.
Even with Lydia's commitment to take acting jobs that were closer to her family, home-based projects she was a part of were phenomenal. To the point where she was awarded for best actress in her drama, Crescent Crossing.
Stiles was proud of her, not only because of the award but her speech. "Wow, this absolutely means the world! Special thanks to my amazing onscreen husband, Robert Madden, bringing a fearless, independent Daisy out of me. My former and current co-stars, directors, crews, editors, manager, publicists, stylists, and fans. Throughout the years you all made me realize why I act and motivate me to better my craft. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to have worked alongside you all. Thank you to the Hales for giving me the privilege to work on not one, but multiple projects, especially for their outstanding writing and directing of Crescent Crossing. My friends and family for the unconditional love and support. Especially to my mom, I wouldn't be acting if it wasn't for your push. Finally to my best friend, my husband, Stiles. We helped each other get our first acting jobs. You're my most dependent support system with your inspiration and love. I realize this is going to sound sappy, but I love acting so much because it made me fall in love with you. I felt so drawn to Daisy as she's a neglected hero. She's selfless, loyal, strong, kind, positive, intelligent, and honest, in other words, I got to play you, Stiles. This award is dedicated to Stiles, he saved me. Thank you so much for this award, I'm honored by the recognition, love you all." Lydia blew some kisses to the crowd, before walking offstage with her award.
