Something that everyone should know about Malia Tate is that she is a fiercely independent young woman. In the long run, the unfortunate part is that lately she's been the victim of boys. Yes, you've read that correctly. Testosterone infused barbarians had been throwing her heart around lately like it was a football, typical. Although in reality, it wasn't made out of pigskin. It was made of her feelings, hopes, desires, and love, a lot of love.

That's why these past few months had been so hard on her. Her heart was still debating over who she should be torn up about. Was it ending things with Isaac or Stiles lying about cheating on her with her sister three years ago? She just didn't know if she was ready to jump in feet first, trying to sort everything out. Hell, she didn't even know if she wanted to. Afterall, sometimes some things are just better off left unsaid.

So, for now, Malia was just doing her. Her heart and frankly every inch of her body wasn't in the mood to go hunting for love since, in the end, she would end up being the deer that was shot down.

After three months of being stuck trying to move past a relationship with Isaac that was going nowhere and avoiding Stiles' endless apologies, she was ready to lift herself out of the mud all by herself. Malia most certainly didn't need anyone to help her, but she still had the overwhelmingly amazing support of her best friends, Allison and Lydia.

If Malia was going to start living the single life, which is what she needed at the moment, then why not have a new look. She wanted to have a new attitude, a different persona, so she went to her stylist and asked for a fresh appearance that executed a new Malia. And what could be more new than chopping off her hair for an edgy length that was different to what she was used to? The hairstyle set the tone.

In order for her to live this single life that she had been dreaming about, she had to deal with her boy problems that were flooding her life. First was with Stiles.

Malia agreed to go to lunch with Stiles at a restaurant that was famous for their brick-oven pizzas. A heartfelt conversation was shared between the two of them, having a level of maturity and such sincerity that made both of them realize just how far they had come. He told her how he met Kylie, leaving none of the details out just like he did with Lydia. "I know that there are no excuses for what I did.  Drunk or not I still made the moronic decision to hurt you. So I just want you to know that whilst future Stiles is beating past Stiles up for sneaking behind your back with her, that I still have hope that we can still be friends." Stiles did exactly as Lydia advised to leave it all out there and own up to his mistake, so, in the end, he did the grown up thing. He had learned from his mistake and was ready to move on.

Malia smiled after his apology. She didn't want any "I'm so sorry" along with substitutions with the word "so" for really, truly, or sincerely because she already knew that. She just wanted him to realize that he had to know what he was sorry for before he started apologizing. She nodded. "I'd like to still be friends too, but I just need some more time to forgive you.  Forgive you enough, so that I won't be tempted to punch those moles of yours off your face everytime I see you."  They both chuckled because a part of them knew that she was being serious, even though she was trying to lighten their conversation.

They both knew that they would be walking a long road in order to mend their friendship, but they knew they could do it. All they needed was some patience and time.

Then there was Isaac. He was like any loyal puppy, not looking at any girl like he did with her. He made it perfectly clear that he wanted to be with her, but neither of them would budge on coming out to the public or continue sneaking around. They had been at a standstill for awhile, so it wasn't anything new.
