The next month that followed made Lydia want to pull her hair out. She was starting to resemble the Mad Hatter since Stiles was driving her absolutely crazy. He wouldn't leave her alone, let alone let her leave the house. It was as if she was under house arrest while he waited on her hand and foot. Stiles was being too protective of her. He even hired a full-time bodyguard to travel with Lydia at all times, but she hadn't left the house since she was discharged from the hospital, so he hadn't had his first shift yet.Stiles' legs were resting on the ottoman with one foot crossed over the other covered in gray socks that were so worn out that a hole was threatening to be made. He was doing some online shopping for items for his daughter on the way. Meanwhile, Lydia was in the midst of changing into jeans and one of Stiles' t-shirts.
When he saw her emerge out of their bedroom, he immediately stopped her as if she was a teenager trying to sneak out. "And where do you think you're going?" He shut his laptop lid after Lydia had picked up her purse.
"Out," she simply stated.
"Let me tell your bodyguard then." Stiles leaped off of the couch to grab a sweatshirt from the closet. "He'll be more than happy to come with us."
"I don't need a bodyguard, Stiles!" Lydia exasperated. She began to pace in circles, flailing her head back and forth.
"Do too! And so does our baby!" He argued as he texted her bodyguard.
"Allison and Malia invited me to get mani-pedis with them. Then, they wanted to go shopping for the baby, so it's kind of just the girls," She informed him.
"Why can't you do them here?" He asked. "Besides, I thought we were going to shop for the baby together, I even favorited some stuff." A frown emerged onto his face as he assumed that she wanted him to join her in shopping for the baby.
Lydia sighed, feeling as she unintentionally hurt his feelings. She walked towards him as she hadn't started waddling just yet. "Because I want to get out of this house, Stiles! I've been cooped up inside for weeks." She wrapped her arms around his neck, looking straight into his eyes. "I love you and your protectiveness, but you're not always going to always be there, nor should you feel obligated to. One of the things I love about you is your pure, pure heart. You never stop caring and I know that you mean well, but we have to keep moving forward."
He pulled her in for a hug, asking, "when did you become so wise?"
"Since you showed me Yoda from Star Wars." She knew that he would be amused by her answer and he most certainly was. Lydia knew him well.
He chuckled, "this is why I married you. You get me." Then, Stiles knelt down observing his wife's growing bump, placing his palms around her stomach. "Are you gonna be as wise as your momma or are you going to be an idiot like daddy?" Stiles cooed. Lydia playfully slapped him against his chest, before he switched to being serious. "I was looking at baby name's earlier and the meaning thing, and I like the name Avery and Sofia. And they just so happen to mean wise, which I like because they describe you perfectly." He was overly enthusiastic about being a father as he wanted to be well-prepared. However, Lydia couldn't help but think that he was surrounding himself in baby planning to escape from the hecticness of their lives.
Lydia gave him a chaste kiss on the lips. "You're the best." She sighed, patting his chest. "Now do something fun. Go call up Scott or Isaac and hang out with them or go to sleep. Trust me, when you're filming schedule starts to become busy and this baby arrives, you won't have that much free time. So enjoy it while it lasts."
Stiles hugged her pecking her forehead. "Okay, Okay. But could you please keep the bodyguard with you. It would make me less anxious and give me some assurance that you're both safe."
