Christmas break was boring. For Star anyway. She tried everything to reach Marco. Calls, texts. She reached out to everyone to see if they'd seen him, but their answer was always no. Days passed and she was getting more worried. Until the worst thing happened. She couldn't get out of bed one morning from the mysterious pain in her body. It was overwhelming. Her parents were worried, and consulted a doctor who old them that Star was really sick, and 'at the rate she was going, who knows how long she has before it gets worse.' Later in the afternoon, Star was visited by her (literally) hot acquaintance Janna Lucitor. She sat by Star's side and accompanied her as home nurses and doctors walked in and out of the room.

"Do you need anything Star? Some water or anything?"

"no... thank you."

She commented quietly. Janna nodded and snapped her fingers, opening a portal. She stepped through and just like that she was gone.

"Ugh.."

Star felt horrible. Like her body didn't want to work anymore and was shutting down. Everything hurt like she'd just been tackled by a football team. She wanted to see Tom.. And Oskar. She wanted to go back to school. She wanted to see Marco.. Why was everything so complicated now? What happened? Where did things go wrong?

Then it hit her.

Things went wrong when she fell out of love with one boy, and in love with another. But she didn't mean to fall in love all over! It just kinda... happened. And NOW she was confused. On one hand, there was Oskar. Sweet, cute, funny, all around awesome guy. Oskar was the guy of her dreams. She's liked him since her first weeks in high school. He was everything.

"Hm.."

On the other hand there was Marco. There's so much to say about Marco. They've made so many memories. Good, bad. FUN! He was adventurous and exciting and crazy. He made her feel the rush. He made her feel alive.

"Do I... Do I love him?"

Her eyes widened and she gasped, putting a hand over her mouth.

"What!? No! I-I can't love him! He's my best friend.. my best friend... who I've kissed several times.. and who is avoiding me.."

And that was true. He was her best friend. Whom she loved. But there was no way she was going to sit there thinking about it. That wasn't the right thing to do. She needed to go out and find what's hers. Her best friend. Her Prince. And nothing was stopping her.

"Star? Darling?"

Uh, except maybe her parents... she quickly pretended to sleep; closing her eyes tightly. Her parents walked in and smiled to themselves. They each planted a kiss to her head and walked out, discussing her condition. After the coast was clear, she got up, maneuvering around her room the best she could, packing some things into a bag. Once done, she put on some heavy, warm clothes. A sweater and some jeans, along with a pink beanie, pink gloves and scarf to match. She tied her hair back into a low ponytail and threw her bag over her shoulders.

"Oh god.. Please help me find Marco."

She opened her bedroom window, and was attacked by freezing cold air. Then she jumped out, landing in the snow from her backyard, and booked it, running as far as she could.

. . .

Marco woke up on a cold, hard surface. Definitely the ground. It was dark and very cold. So cold that his hair was beginning to freeze to his face and neck. He took a look around and heard shackles. He was chained to the wall by his ankles and wrists, but was able to have little moving room.
