Josh x reader x Joe [part 4 of where are you going?]

Joe's POV

I walked into my room and layed down on my bed. Why does this have to be so hard? She loved me, how? I don't understand this, I don't understand life. Just in time I heard the crew come in. They were all laughing and having a fun time. Then I heard Y/n, "Hey, where's Joe?"
"I'll go find him," I heard Josh say.

I heard a knock at my door, "Joe," said the person at the door, "what's wrong."
"Nothing," I groaned, "just leave me alone."
"Dude, we want to go get dinner," Josh seemed really confused.
"You and Y/n, okay good. Why should I care, she's your girlfriend," I barked at him.

"No, with everyone. If you didn't want to do anything then why did you come in the first place," he fired back.
"I did it for the guys. I also wanted to work things out with Y/n."
"Dude, I know you liked her and she liked you. I'm sorry I took her away from you. I'm sorry I went home with her that night. I'm sorry I ruined your relationship that you wanted forever. I'm sorry for everything that I've done to you that has ruined your chance with Y/n."

Was I hearing this right? I couldn't be hearing this right? Was he sorry for taking her or was he sorry for going home and changing her point of view on how guys should and shouldn't act? He could even say he's sorry because he knows how I feel and actually loves someone else?

"Why are you sorry," I sat up on my bed, "she obviously likes you more."
"No Joe," he sat down beside me, "she loves you. She thought that if she got together with me then it would change the way she felt about you. She said nothing changed and that she doesn't want to hurt my feelings but that it wouod be best if we broke up. I told her it was fine and that I feel the same way. I love someone else and we can finally move on."

"Wait," I wiped my tears that were left on my face, "she really said that?"
"Of course you idiot! She loves you more than anyone, except for Shawn Mendes obviously but she knows that would never happen."
I chuckled because I knew it was true, "Yeah she REALLY loves Shawn Mendes." I waited for a little while in comfortable silence with Josh then I finally spoke, "Should I go talk to her?"
Without hesitation Josh said, "Yes mate, you really should."

I walked downstairs and didn't see Y/n anywhere. "She's on the porch Joe," Oli yelled to me.
"Thanks Oli," I yelled back.

I walked outside and saw her sitting on the porch swing. I walked over and sat beside her. I stayed silent for a few minutes until I found the right words to speak, "so, Josh told me everything."
"He did, " she aksked.
"Yeah."
"So what now," this conversation is getting awkward.

"If you need time to get over Josh then I get it, then I could take you out on a date and see where that takes us," I suggested.
"I don't need time. I was the one who said we should break up. I knew he didn't like me and I knew I didn't like him, but I kept it up for a few years. I wanted to get over you because I thought you didn't like me back. I thought I meant nothing to you. Apparently I was wrong about everything that I thought; everything except that I have a chance. I wanted a relationship with you for so long."

"We could have that date now if you want."
She giggled, "I would like that." She took my hand and rested her head on my shoulder watching the sun disappear into the sea.
