Can You Hold Me? (Jack)

I couldn't believe the words that were coming out of the doctors mouth. "I have what?" I asked making sure I heard them right.

"Thyroid cancer. I know this is a lot to comprehend," the doctor continued to talk but I didn't pay any attention. I spaced out thinking about what I need to do, what all I want to do. I know there are treatments, but what if they don't work? What if I die in a few years or a few months?

I was handed a packet of papers with all the information on it. "Please drive home safely and when you find a treatment you want to try then contact me immediately." The doctor lead me out of the room and called for his next patient.

When I got home I didn't know what to do. I sat in the parking garage for almost 30 minutes wondering how I'm going to tell Jack and the rest of the boys. Then I walked through the door, looking as the boys sat around making a video with each other. "Y/n!" they all screamed.

"Hey boys," I threw on my best fake smile. "I'm going to get in the bath, see you all after your video?" They all nodded in agreement.

Ten minutes later I came downstairs wondering how I'm going to tell them. I found them all sprawled out by the couch. "Y/n? What's wrong babe?" Jack asked. Everything went quiet, I didn't know silence could be so deafening.

"As you all know I went for a doctor's appointment today, and I found out something very important." I saw as all their eyes were filled with confusion and worry. "I found out I have Thyroid cancer, and they said they have different treatments for it." I started to break as soon as I saw their faces drop with sadness and fear. "I'm going to do all I can to get help, but please don't tell anyone."

"What can we do to help?" Jack asked.

"Yeah, we need to do something," Conor said. "I mean you're apart of the Buttercream Squad, you're one of us."

"Yeah and if anything we should help you, with so many things you've done for us," Josh said.

"I didn't do anything for you," I giggled.

"Bullshit," Mikey said. "You helped me get a girlfriend."

"You helped me find the perfect pizza place," Caspar pointed out.

Oli giggled, "You watered my cacti when I went on trips and tours."

"Most of my songs you've helped me with," Conor sang.

"You helped me gain more confidence in myself," Josh said.

Joe says, " Whenever I was bored you gave me great ideas for videos."

Jack walked over and grabbed my hands, "You've helped me with so many things. You taught me how to be a better man, how to cook, and how to love. I would do anything for you Y/n, even if it means staying by you for any choice you make. All of us will because we love you!"

"You guys are going to make me cry again," I sniffled. "There is one thing I want to ask for."

"And what's that?" Jack asked.

"Can you hold me?"

They all got up and embraced me in the biggest bear hug I have ever received. Even though the boys are a pain in my ass, I still love them like there is no tomorrow.

A/n- I'm sorry this is short, depressing, and really late. Thank you all for being patient, but I think I'm going to do a couple more images then finish this book. It's been a blast publishing this book and I'm so glad I have supporting fans/ readers like you. Unlike most of you I'm not from the UK, I'm from the US and I wasn't sure if I said any of these things right that are not from my country. I have so many questions that can't be answered.
