"Please come in."  Magnus says, answering the door and stepping aside.

"Thank you so much for seeing me."

"I will get the spell book you need."

"Thanks."  She says as he walks into his study.

"How are things in chicago?"

"Remains to be seen."  She says, opening the book.

"Why is that?"  Magnus asks, snapping them both coffee.

"They have appointed a new head of the Institute."  She says finding the page and waving her hand over it to make a copy.

"That's not always a bad thing."

"How can you say that?  Shadowhunters are horrible."  She says as the apartment door opens.

"Papa."  Rafeal says, running into magnus's arms.

"How was training?"

"It was great. Daddy let me use his bow."

"Really."  He says as alec walks in with max and magdaline. "Daddy never let's anyone use his bow."

"Why do you let shadowhunters just walk into you home."

"Well."  Magnus says, not trying to hide his irritation. "This is Rafeal, max and magdaline, my children."

"Ok."  She says, looking at alec with disgust. "What about that one?"

"This is Alexander, head of the new york institute."  He says, walking over to him. "Oh, and he's also my husband."  He says, kissing him.

"Who are you?"  Alec asks after magnus pulls away.

"I am the high warlock of chicago."

"Nice to meet you."  Alec says, extending his hand.

She barely puts her hand in his before pulling it away.

"Do you have what you need?"  Magnus asks, narrowing his eyes.

"Yes."

"Good, if there is nothing else, you can leave."

"She seemed ...awful."  Alec says after the door closes.

"She was."  Magnus says, kissing him again.
