Maryse doesnt look up from her desk when there is a knock on the door.

"Yes."

Magnus walks in and she looks up as he closes the door behind him.

"Magnus, this is unexpected."

"Yeah."  He says, sitting  on the edge of the chair in front of her desk. "I guess it is."

"Magnus, is something wrong?"  She asks when she notices him playing with the rings on his fingers.

"No, nothing is wrong."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah."

"Magnus, I've known you for many years. You have been dating my son for a while,  I have never seen you this nervous."

"I don't think I have ever been this nervous in my entire eight hundred years."

"Why don't you tell me what has you so nervous?"

Magnus takes a deep breath and says, "I was wanting to ask for Alexander's hand in marriage."

Maryse smiles at Magnus and says, "of course you have my blessing."

**********

Magnus paces around their loft waiting for alec to come home from patrolling with his siblings.  As he is pacing, his phone rings.

"Who dare disturbs the high warlock of brooklyn?"

"Magnus, it's jace.  You need to get here now, it's alec."  Jace says, hanging up the phone.

Magnus stares at his phone then frantically opens a portal and steps through it.

*********

Magnus sits by alecs bed, holding his hand.  He looks at their intertwined hands and softly kisses his knuckles.

"Well, Alexander, this isn't how I planned this night."  He says, pulling out the ring box out of his pocket.

He picks up alecs left hand and slowly slips the ring on his finger, kissing it.

***********

Alec opens his eyes and looks around the empty room. He sits up but the room starts to spin and when he puts his head in his hands he feels something cold on his forehead. He looks at his hands and gasps.

"Magnus."

He hears something hit the bottom of his shower then sudden movements come from behind the closed door. Moments later, Magnus rushes out with a towel around his waist.

Alec looks up at Magnus and says, "yes."
