"Alec." Maryse says, walking into his bedroom at the Institute.
"Mom, can you help me with my tie?"
"Sure, honey." She says, walking over to him. "Have you heard from magnus today?"
"Yeah, he texted me about twenty minutes ago and said he was on his way. Why?"
"He's not here."
"That's not possible. He was using a portal to get here."
"Alec, honey, are you sure he was on his way?"
"Yes." He says, picking up his phone. "I will call him and see what is going on."
"Alec?" She says when he hangs up his phone.
"He didn't answer. Something is wrong. I have to go check on him."
Maryse looks at her son and sighs. "You are not going alone. Take izzy and jace with you."
"Ok." Alec says, running out.

Alec reaches the door of the loft with jace and izzy right behind him. The door has been forced open.
"You ready to go in?" Izzy asks.
"Yeah." Alec says, opening the door.
The room is totally destroyed. Alec bends down and pick up magnus's broken cell phone.
"Who would do this?" Alec asks, turning to his siblings.
"I don't know." Jace says. "But we are going to find out."

Alec looks up from where is is curled up in the chair where magnus proposed, turning his engagement ring on his finger, when cat and tessa walk out of magnus's office.
"It's been four days please tell me you have found something."
"We think we have but it can be very dangerous if magnus even did the spell." Cat answers.
"Alec." Tessa says, kneeling down in front of him. "Did magnus ever say anything about your engagement ring being enchanted?"
"No. Why?"
"Can I see it?"
"Will I get it back?"
"Of course." She says as he slips it off.
Tessa takes the ring and starts examining it.
"Cat, look at the inscription."
"I will always find you." She reads. "He did it, didn't he."
"Can you two please tell me what is going on?" Alec says, putting his ring back on.
"Magnus put a tracking spell on your ring. It can be used to track either one of you as long as one of you is wearing it."
"What are we waiting for?" Alec says, standing up.
"The tracking spell can be dangerous."
"How?"
"When we start the tracking spell it will start draining his energy and since we don't know how weak he is already, we don't know how long he will last once we start."
"So, the spell could kill him?"
"It could."
"Will he know when we start the spell?"
"Yes."
"Let's do it. He will hold on for me."
