"How are you feeling?" Jace asks alec, walking into the infirmary.
"Just great, jace." Alec says, trying to get comfortable.
"Have you called magnus?"
"I'm not going to."
"Alec, he needs to know that you got hurt."
"Jace, I'm fine."
"Alec, you are paralyzed from the waist down, you need to tell magnus."
"Why?"
"Because he would want to know that his husband is hurt."
"I am not telling him."
"Why not?"
"Because he is in Australia with a client."
"That doesn't matter to magnus. Try again."
Alec takes a shaky breath and says, "what if he doesn't come back?"
"Why wouldn't he come back?"
"Because I can't feel anything from the waist down."
"That is the stupidest reason I ever heard."
"You are going to call him, aren't you?"
"Yes, i am."
"Fine. Can you send Rafeal in while you call magnus, I'd like to see him." Alec says as jace walks out.

Magnus walks in the infirmary, banging the door on the wall, making the three shadowhunters jump.
"Papa!" Rafeal says, jumping off the bed and running to magnus.
Magnus hugs him then says, "why don't you go find aunt izzy, I need to talk to daddy and uncle jace for a minute."
Magnus waits for the door to close behind his son before he turns to the two adult shadowhunters, his eyes flashing angerly.
"Alexander Gideon lightwood-bane." He says, walking toward the bed. "Why did you not call me as soon as you were injured?"
"I didn't want you to know."
"Why not, may I ask?"
"I was afraid you would decide you didn't want to be with me anymore." Alec says, hanging his head.
"Why would you think that?"
"Because I can't feel anything from the waist down."
"That is the stupidest thing you have ever said."
"That's what I told him." Jace laughs.
"And you jonathon Christopher herondale, why didn't you call me sooner?"
"Alec didn't want me to."
"From now on, both of you, if Alexander is hurt with so much as a scratch, I want to know about it." Magnus says, turning around and walking out.
"Wow." Alec says. "He must be upset with me, he didn't even kiss me." He says as jace nods.

Alec looks up from the book he is reading when the infirmary door opens.
"Hey." Magnus says, sitting on the bed.
"Hey."
"I'm sorry for earlier, I shouldn't have reacted like I did."
"I'm sorry too, I should've called you."
"Why would you even think I wouldn't come back?" Magnus asks, taking alecs hand.
"Because I am paralyzed from the waist down."
"Alexander, I am never going g to leave you." He says, kissing him. "I talked to the silent brothers and they said the paralysis isn't permanent so you are going to be fine."
"I am?"
"Yes, you are. They want you to stay here til you are so me and Rafeal are going to stay here with you til you are back on your feet."
"Can we all stay in my old room together?"
"Of course we can." Magnus says, gently picking him up.
