The usual gang is all at magnus and alecs loft for movie night. Each couple is cuddled under a thick comforter, Isebelle and Simon are on one of the loveseats and jace and clary are on the other one while magnus and alec are in the overstuffed armchair, magnus has his arm around alecs waist while alec has his head on magnus's shoulder.
"Alexander." Magnus whispers in his ear.
"Hum."
"I want to ask you something."
"Ok."
"Before I do you have to promise to answer with a simple yes or no with just a whisper."
"Ok."
"Will you marry me?"
Alec turns his slightly to make sure he isn't joking. "Does your hesitation mean no?"
"Yes. I mean no. I mean yes I will marry you."
"Then you will want this." He says, pulling a plain gold engagement ring out of his pocket.
"Wait." Alec says as he goes to put the ring on his finger. "I want to give you this." He says pullng off the lightwood family ring.
Magnus, knowing of the shadowhunter tradition of giving your fiancee your family ring snaps his fingers, removing all his rings so the only one he is wearing is the one alec gave him.
Alec leans up to kiss magnus and they only break apart when izzy squeals with excitement.
"What's wrong?" Jace says, looking at her.
"Look." She says, pointing at alec and magnus.
"It's alec and magnus kissing, we've all seen it."
"Look at magnus's finger."
Jace looks over and then smiles at the couple.
"When did this happen?" Isebelle demands.
"About thirty seconds ago." Magnus says, kissing alec again.
