Part 45:One little word

Characteristics define us,
We know this to be true.
But words,hurtful or not,
Seem to do that to.

I sit and I wonder,
Ponder on these things.
Why do we think society's standards,
To us happiness must bring?

Being called a name,
A simple meaningless word.
Affects us so greatly,
With easy it brings down our entire world.

Is society bringing pressure,
Or do we do that to ourselves?

One little sentence they don't think of again.
But one little sentence to brings a loss, not a gain.

One little sentence is sleepless nights,
Or crying ourselves to sleep.
One little sentence is the breaking of our souls,
One little sentence or word, and we can never go back to bold.

Perhaps we're to sensitive,
Maybe it's true.
But delicate heart and all,
That one little sentence means nothing at all.

A single word,a characteristic,
Can never sum up you.
To many bright,and beautiful things,
Cannot be told in so few.

You are gorgeous and beautiful and special and unique.
That one little word,
Should be shivering at your feet.

You are mighty and strong and intelligent and capable.
That one little word,
You can easily scoot under the table.

You are precious and lovely and kind and so so much more.
That one little insecurity,
Should be loved even more.

Nobody is perfect,
We know this to be true.
But honey,
You're imperfectly perfect,
Please never feel you have to change you.
