Chapter's song : Sink or Swim - Lewis Watson

The sun was shining into my eyes, hurting my vision.
"Today is going to be the beginning of the nightmare; school" I sighed to myself.
"Mitchie" mom called from the top of her lungs.
"Yes!!" I answered back trying to be as loud as possible so she could here me, since she was all the way down in the kitchen getting breakfast ready.
I slipped into my extra fussy bunny slippers that always kept me warm.
As soon as I got closer to the kitchen the scent of bacon and pancakes got me flying all over the house. I love how mom saves the day with perfectly cooked food.
"Good morning momzie" I wrapped mom into a hug while she flipped the golden-looking pancake.
"Good morning little one" said mom.
"FOOD!!"I shouted while mom laughed.
"Your favorite!!" Mom teased.
"Absolutely" I answered.
I groaned when the thought of school conquered my thoughts again. I hated school. I wasn't bullied much though nor was I the glam of the school. Yet, I struggled. I hate watching those bratty girls walking around in their super mini skirts. I hate watching them boss people around, including myself. It only happened once at the beginning of last year. A blonde curly head came right up to me with a group of girls following her lead. I couldn't help but chuckle when I imagined them as part of 'Mean Girls' movie. Everything at our school looked just like a movie script. I also hated those teachers with horrible attitudes. Mostly, I utterly hate liars. School is stuffed with examples of these kinds. I hated dealing with them. I just hate it.
"What's wrong sweetie?" Mom asked, concerned of my daydreaming.
"Nothing....School is today" I spoke.
Mom gave me a securing smile.
"What?" I asked her.
"You remind me of myself" she answered.
Usually, I get distracted with all the thoughts in my head. So at times other stuff pop up my brain. This time, a serious thing came up to me.
"Mom" I said looking at my plate of bacon. "Where is dad?"
Suddenly, her smile turned into a frown.
"Mom..." I said grabbing her hand.
"Mitchie dear, you are big enough to understand life" she replied quietly.
"Things aren't so clear right now. Can we talk about this later please?""Yeah sure. What ever makes you happy mom" I said trying to give her the same warm feeling she gives me when I'm down. I know I can never be as good as she is in this thing, but I have to try at least.
I walked into my closet. I wasn't the kind of girl that had a lot of clothes. I had what my family could afford, and it wasn't much actually.
I made my way lazily to the front door.
"Mom I'm going!!" I called.
"Okay honey. Take care sweetheart" she called back.
Great. Here goes the beginning of this horror movie.
