Chapter 48

The rest of the time was Emily taking pictures of everyone holding Sophia and a couple pictures of me holding my girl and one of Nico and I smiling, holding her. And one of us both staring down at her.

I put the picture of us staring down at her on Facebook, putting the caption as 'Baby #1: Sophia Ann.'

I set the picture of me kissing her forehead as my profile picture.

"Hey Nico? Why don't you take Emmett down to get a snack?" I asked him quietly. He nodded and helped his brother off the bed and shut the door when he left.

"What's going on?" Emily asked, sitting in one of the chairs and giving me her undivided attention.

"His name is Liam. He was born at 11:03. The umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck, but not enough to kill him in my stomach but he was facing the wrong way so they had to turn him around but that was already because there were two of them in me." I told them all as they listened to me intently.

"Where is he now?"

"The NICU in an incubator. I only got to hold him for 5 seconds before they took him." My eyes started to water. "He wasn't crying." I whispered, on the verge of breaking down.

"Hey, everything is going to be ok! I made strong boys and your father made a strong daughter, your babies are going to be the best! Liam is going to be ok." Emily assured me, giving my hand a squeeze.

Dylan looked up from Sophia. "She looks like me, you're lucky." We all laughed as he gloated about his looks. He handed me back my baby girl as the nurse came in to help me change her.

"So do we get to see him?" Cody asked hopefully as the nurse left.

"I'm not sure. I haven't even seen him. I don't even know what is going on with him." I told him. "They're also a couple weeks early, is that ok? Is that going to affect anything?"

"You were only 38 weeks along. Babies normally come around 37-42 weeks. Give or take a couple weeks." Emily told me as Nico came back with Emmett, chocolate all over his face.

"Phoenix?" Emmett asked after he had crawled up onto the bed to get a better look at Sophia.

"Yes Em?"

"What's the other babies name in the special room?" He asked me.

"Liam." I told him as he smiled.

"That's the name I picked!" I furrowed my eyebrows at him as Nico blushed.

"What?"

"Nico bet me 10 chocolate chip cookies that he was gonna be name Liam." He smiled happily. "Now I get 9 more cookies." I laughed at him as he asked to hold Sophia again.

"Go wash up and you can hold her." He jumped off the bed and ran into the bathroom.

"I'M ALL CLEAN!" He yelled, walking out with his shirt all wet. I looked at Emily hopefully.

"I have a spare shirt." she dug in her purse and pulled out a green tshirt with a dinosaur on it.

"Go change and you can hold her for a little bit." I told him and he ran to Emily, stripping in the process.

"Can I hold her now?" He asked excitedly.

"Yes." I laughed as Nico helped him on the bed. I placed Sophia in his arms, holding mine underneath as we all talked about anything.

Suddenly she started fussing and then she started crying. It scared Emmett because he thought he did something wrong.

"I didn't hurt her! I promise!"
