Chapter 21

* Bruno's POV *

"Everyday I wake up next to an angel.

More beautiful than words could say.

They said it wouldn't work but what did they know?

Cause years have passed and we're still here today.

Never in my dreams did I think that this, could happen to me.

As I stand here before my woman.

I can't fight back the tears in my eyes.

Oh how could I be so lucky?

I must've done something right.

And I promise to love her...

for the rest of my life....

"Good night Daddy."

"I love you more"

I give Genie a kiss on her head before she could reply. I close the door to her room. I wrote that song, just for her. And now I sing it to her as a lullaby. She loves it.

I know she does.

I head to the studio with my jumbled up papers.

"Hey Bruno!"

"Hey guys."

"You didn't bring Genie?"

"Nah, I left her with my mom. I put her to sleep so she won't miss me."

"What's not to miss?" Phil said. I laugh. Phil continued. "Flo Rida's coming in a bit. You got the song?"

"Yeah I got the song! Here"

"Mmhmm.... this is good. let's see if Mr. Rida agrees."

I chuckle. More like a nervous chuckle. I just hope he likes it.

The doors open. "Hey guys! The Smeezingtons!! Let's get this started."

"Flo Rida, good to see you again. Ready to hear the final version of Right Round?"

"You bet! Let's hear it"

- Awhile Later -

"It's awesome!"

I laugh. "We can settle for awesome."

Everybody laughs.

"This song is pure gold. Can't wait for it to be on the radios all over the world!"

"Everyone can't wait" Phil said.

I stand up. "Well, I gotta get going. Got a darling little kid waiting for me to make Spaghetti O' Surprise."

"I feel sorry for Genie. Not for the spaghetti but for the surprise in it!" Phil says out loud.

I give him a face. Everyone cracks up. "Alright guys. I'll see you later."

"Bye Bruno"

"Bye"

Man if this song really is pure gold, I'll probably have a shot at hitting it big.

I'm not doing it for me though.

I go to a bar and order myself a scotch. I raise the glass in the air and smile. "I'm doing it for you Genie. My Treasure. Here's to us."

I drink it all down and pay the bartender. I leave the bar and walk down to my car....hey that rhymed!

I start it an drove to my apartment. To my daughter... Man I have a good life!

*Ah! So many reads! I'm gonna die of happiness!!! Thank you so so much!!! If I could I would go to each of your homes and give you a thank you hug.... (but that's kinda stalkerish, so scratch that out)

I watched Rio 2 again a few days ago, with the family. They kept laughing when Bruno was doing that bird call when he was singing welcome back to Jewel. Now their making fun of him in front of me... but it was funny :D
