Chapter 37

* Bruno's POV *

I can't believe I agreed to go to Mexico?!

What the hell was I thinking?!

"So how about it Bruno? Do you accept my boss' offer on taking you to a trip to Mexico?"

"... I accept it. Tell your boss I'm grateful for his offering"

Damn it.... and on top of that, the girl that was with my kids... what the heck did she do to them? I can't wake them up!

I flopped onto my bed and closed my eyes. I kept thinking about Helena, wanting to hear her voice and her wisdom.

"If you wanted to talk to me, you should've looked better at the party"

I felt myself jump. I see her. Helena, just right there in my room! She's wearing a white laced shirt with cream pants. Does she always wear white?

"Helena... how the hell you get in here?!"

Helena chuckled. "I wouldn't say such horrid language unless otherwise indicated Bruno"

"What? I just wanna know what you're doing in here!? How did you get in?!"

Helena smirked. "Front door was open... I can get in and out of wherever I please Bruno. I'm just here because you wanted to talk to me"

I sighed. "I had a dream about you. You were an angel. And you told me to don't go. And I asked where? And you were disappearing. And I kept calling to you. Then you finally said, 'don't trust the Snake'..."

Helena exhaled sharply. "I gave you the dream Bruno. As a warning. Whatever place your going to. Don't go. Something will happen. I cannot tell you who the Snake is. I am forbidden to say such things.... trust me"

I scoff. "Yeah. Trust a girl who breaks into your house and tells you some weird shit. I don't believe you Helena. You're beautiful, smart, very wise. But what I've just heard from your lips are something that comes out of a movie"

Helena stood up quickly. I felt her gaze piercing into mine. I felt the whole room filling with heat. Like if it were in flames. I don't see Helena anymore. I only see flames.

When the fire receded, I saw Helena again... I held back a scream. She turned into an angel. Not like the ones in movies... Helena... her appearance was too... not real.

Her wings were of silver and gold, with staring eyes on each feather. Her hair had gotten extremely lighter, turning into curls that disappeared at the end into flames.

Her body was wrapped in a simple white shawl to cover her private areas. There were markings covering her arms and legs. I saw fire rushing through her veins. Her eyes were all light, no pupils or any other color.

She looked beautiful. Beautiful and inhuman.

She spoke with such force that I couldn't help but go down on my knees. "Now do you believe me Bruno. Now do you understand? I am an Archangel. Of the same strength and durability as Raziel and Micheal. Your daughter is very precious to have me as her Guardian Angel..."

"Woah woah wait?! You're an Archangel?! And you're Genie's Guardian?!"

She nods. Her wings wrapped around her as she shrunk back to her human self. "Not what you were expecting?"

I shook my head. "What can you do?" Helena seemed intrigued. "I can help prevent things, save what has been lost, show people their fate, I can help them find peace"

"You mean you lead them to their deaths?"

"If that is what they desire, then yes. I help people find what brings them peace. If what brings them peace, is to be with the Almighty. Then I shall bring them their death."

"I'm glad I'm not an Angel."

"Be glad that Genie is safe for now. Don't go to Mexico Bruno. Trust me don't"

"... I made a promise to Natalie. to her boss. I don't want them to think bad of me. And besides Genie would love it! The mariachi bands! The beaches! The small towns!"

Helena laughed. "Mexico isn't all you expect it to be. Trust me, don't. Don't go Bruno"

"I'm sorry Helena, but I have to"

"... very well then. just try not to leave Genie out of your sight. She'll need your protection"

"Understood" I bowed. "Oh Mighty Helena"

Fire started to show up again. Helena grabbed me by the chin and dragged me to her. "Don't ever do that again"

"Sorry..."

With that Helena let me go, flicked her hands, and vanished into thin air.

I flopped onto my bed again. My life has just gotten really weird.
