Chapter 5

*Bruno's POV*

The baby kept staring at me.

It felt weird.

I stared at her too. I didn't know what to do.

I need help.

I called the only guy I counted on.

Phil.

-Phone conversation-

Phil: Hello?

Bruno: Hey Phil! It's me

Phil: PETER! What up dude? You don't ever call me at this time? Wait what time is it?.... shit man it's 8 in the morning!

Bruno: I know Phil. But... *sigh* I'm just gonna say it. Lenora came back.

Phil: SHUT UP!!!! Wait.... who's Lenora?

Bruno: -.- really Phil? She was the girlfriend I had ten months ago. The one that was a drug addict...

Phil: Ohhhhh! Now I remember. Well, why she came back?

Bruno: To tell me she gave birth to my daughter...

Phil: .....

Bruno: Hello? Phil? Dude answer! I'm in a frickin screw up here! Don't go all quiet on me!

Phil: sorry man. It's just. Wow. You're a dad. Never thought it would happen. Well I did. But not at this time...

Bruno: I don't know what to do Phil. Especially when the holidays coming up. I don't know how to tell my parents and my sisters and Eric.

Phil: well don't worry. I'll swing by your apartment in a bit so we can both tell them. See you in 5 minutes.

Bruno: alright man, see you.

Phil: alright. Bye

Bruno: bye

-hang up-

I look back at the baby. She's still staring at me. She's smiling, her dimples show more.

I didn't realize at first, but I smiled too.

She put her hands up and started doing a little dance with her hands. I think she wanted me to hold her.

I picked her up and held her with one hand. She's tiny. Her head's the size of my hand. Her body the length of my arm.

She laughed. I laughed too. She wanted to crawl on my arm, I found it cute.

There was a knock on the door. Phil. I opened it and he stares at me with the baby in my hand.

"Okay" He said, "how did you get from worried, not sure how to be a dad, on the phone. And now you're holding the kid like you've known her since she was born."

I just made a face and he walked in.

"Okay man, so how do we do this?"
