Chapter 14

* Bruno's POV *

My mom, out of everyone else, her face stood out the most. She looked both surprised, but happy. She stood up and went to me. Tears were in her eyes. "This isn't true..."

I forced a smile, I hate seeing my mom like this. "It is mom. She's your granddaughter." Ahhh why did I say that, it made her cry even more!!

My dad got up to comfort my mom. He looked surprised too. Surprised and mad. "Perfect timing to tell us Peter." I choked up a bit. Presley came to me, but she looked at my kid. "So I'm an aunt? I'm kind of young for that no?"

It got quiet. But it was Eric who started laughing. Everyone else started laughing too. I was the only one who wasn't.

I gotta admit, I got upset. It felt like they were laughing at me and my daughter. I shook my head and walked into the kitchen. I just sat there, on the counter, looking at my baby.

She stared at me and held her hands out. I moved her closer to my face, and she started brushing my cheek with her tiny hand. I started laughing. Laughing and crying.

That's when everyone else came in. I looked at them and then back at my baby.

"Peter"

It was my mom. I looked at her. She wasn't crying anymore, but she looked unhappy. "We're sorry for laughing."

"It's okay mom. I just got a bit upset cause it felt like the laughing was for us. Me and my daughter"

My mom got closer to me. "Sorry. I'm just surprised Peter. I've never expected you to be like this. To be... a good father. like your dad"

I smiled, but I lost it again. "Lenora left her, mom. My ex girlfriend. She came to my house and left her there. It's been a few weeks already. I would've told you guys sooner, but I didn't know what to say"

My mom gave me a quick hug. "It's okay Peter. We're not mad at you. Right?" Everyone nodded. My baby started laughing.

I held her out to my mom. She took my child in her arms. She started to cry again. The baby smiled and played around with my mom's necklace.

"So her name is Iluminada?"

I shook my head. "Was. I wanna change it. Something that I can pronounce! But I want you to rename her." My mom smiled.

"You know, she granted my wish." I looked at my mom. "What wish?" She smiled. "For you to be a dad." There went the water works for me.

"I think her name should be Genevieve. So her nickname would be Genie."

I looked at her. I liked the name. "I love the name! Her name is now Genevieve. Genevieve Hernandez."
