The smell of alcohol filled my lungs the minute I stepped in to the bar. A wide array of people were gathered around the staging area; a young couple reading the sign about the show tonight and another few men setting up a drum kit and microphone on stage.

"I'll get us some drinks." Ashton offered, patting me on the back. He smiled at me as he walked up to the drinks bar.

I walked away from him and made myself comfortable, sitting down on one of the stools at a table for two. I sat and waited for my drink, reading the leaflet set on the table, similar to the one Dan gave me earlier. My stomach churned thinking about it, I lashed out at him and had no right to. Did he even want me here after what I said?

*Dan's POV*

I wanted her to be here so badly. Even after what she had said to me before, I know she was just being understanding about Kyle. We've worked it all out anyway, he's still pretty annoyed at me but I can tell it's wearing off and hopefully it will soon.

"You alright Dan?" Woody asked me, sitting down beside me backstage on one of the sound amps.

"Yeah, just nervous I guess." I replied, lightly laughing. I stood up and glanced through the small gap in the curtains on the stage. I don't know what I was expecting..I mean Violet probably didn't even want to come.

I'm wasting my time, I thought to myself, turning my back, when suddenly I heard a familiar laugh. It brought a smile to my face, the kind of laugh that was contagious. It had to be Violet, it was Violet.

I turned back to see her sat with another guy, throwing her head back as he carried on talking to her, laughing along with each other. At first I thought it was her boyfriend Jake but..I just didn't know what I thought.

"I'm getting a drink." I muttered, flinging the curtains together so I could no longer see them, or anyone. I took quick strides to the mini-fridge backstage, we weren't supposed to 'leave backstage when guests have arrived'. I don't even get it, I mean, like we'll ever get that famous anyway.

"Do you really think that's a good idea before the show?" Woody asked me, standing up himself and crossing his arms.

"Relax, I'm not going to get drunk." I replied, leaning down and opening the door of the mini-fridge.

"Whatever." He laughed.

I scoffed, standing back up and downing a small bottle of beer, wiping my mouth and slamming it back down on the side.

"Five minutes till the show guys." A man I didn't know told us, entering along with Will and Kyle. Woody started tapping his drum sticks on his knees as I shut the fridge door, walking away and running my hand through a lock of my hair.

*Violet's POV*

A man stood on the stage and started talking in to a microphone, informing us the show was about to start soon. I took a sip of my cold drink through my straw and smiled at Ashton.

"I hope they're good." He whispered, lightly laughing.

"I'm sure they will be. I'm looking forward to this!" I replied, looking away and glancing around the room. More people began to fill the bar, forming a queue to buy tickets; we already got ours before entering.

"Okay everyone.." The same man began as he tapped the microphone to get it working.

"Make yourselves comfortable..I'm sure you're going to enjoy this. For the first time only in Stone Acre we would like to welcome to you... Bastille! Enjoy the show everyone." He finished, leaving the stage and clapping his hands together as Dan, Kyle and two other guys walked on to the stage.

I smiled as Dan walked up to the microphone, receiving a few cheers and lots of people applauded.

"Hi everyone, um..I'm Dan, this is Kyle, Will, and Woody." He informed, pointing his hand to them as he called out their names. "This first song is called Flaws, I hope you enjoy it."

I applauded for the final time tonight, the sound of drums beating on my ear drums as I took another gulp of my drink. I smiled as I drank it, looking at Dan through the corner of my eye as I set the glass back down on the table.

"Thankyou so much for coming tonight everyone." Dan told in the microphone, before waving to the audience as if to say goodnight.

"They were pretty good!" Ashton shouted over the loud cheers that sounded around us. The venue seemed to be getting less busier by the minute, people leaving and saying their goodbyes. I looked at the clock to see it had just gone past 9 o'clock.

"Yeah, I know!" I smiled back, no longer needing to shout over the noise.

I looked back over to Dan, he lifted up the microphone stand, moving it to the side of the stage, his band mates getting up and going backstage. At first I thought he was going to follow, but he didn't. My heart felt as if it stopped when he looked up, his mouth widening. He smiled at me, and his smile was like a torch shining right through me, lighting up all the dark corners. I mimicked his movement, holding my hand up to wave.

He ran his fingers through his dark hair, looking down as he ran down the steps, walking towards me.

"Dan that was amazing!" I yelled as he became closer. I breathed in as he was now stood directly infront of me, looking down at the ground. He quietly and nervously chuckled before replying.

"You came." He smiled, staring at me.

"I-"

The clearing of my brother's throat interrupted us, making me turn my head in his direction. I tried to contain my smile, my mouth ached from all of the laughing and smiling tonight.

"I'm sorry, I'm so rude..um, Dan..this is my brother, Ashton."

Dan's eyes seemed to glimmer before he said anything. He blinked a couple of times before he shook his head side to side, holding his hand out in a polite gesture to Ashton.

"Nice to meet you." Dan informed as they shook hands and pulled away.

"You too, damn are you good at playing that keyboard!" Ashton mimicked; laughing and putting his hands in mid air as if to be playing the instrument himself.

"Thanks." Dan laughed along.

"So..anyone want another drink before we leave?" Ashton asked, implying we all sit down to talk.

"Oh..I dunno.." I replied, looking around the room, unaware of how to behave.

"Sure." Dan smiled, looking at me but answering Ashton, receiving a smile back from my brother as he walked off to the bar to get us another round.
