"So Dan, when did you first get into music?" Ashton asked as he gulped down his drink.
"I always...well, I still do actually..um, right songs in my bedroom, since when I was a teenager, you know?"
Ashton agreed, nodding his head and putting his glass back on the wooden table.
"Yeah, and I just..I don't really know, it just kinda happened." He laughed and looked back over to me as if looking for my approval. I smiled and laughed a little.
The bar was much emptier than before, people had left, there were still a few but not many. I glanced round the room before looking back at Dan, seeing him already staring at me. I looked away and felt myself blush. What was wrong with me?
"It's getting quite late, this night's gone a lot quicker than I thought." I stated, trying to sound casual as I looked towards the clock on the brick wall.
"Yeah, it is." Dan replied as he checked his watch.
"Anyone want another drink or?" Ashton asked, holding his glass in his hand.
"I'm fine, I think I've already had one too many." I answered, looking down at my feet. I looked back over to Dan and he agreed, standing up.
"We better be heading home anyway." I added, following Dan's actions and standing up myself.
"Yeah, I'll go and get the car." Ashton replied as he walked towards the entrance of the bar.
"See you out front Vi?" He asked, walking out backwards; waiting for my answer.
"Yeah, I'll just get my coat!" I yelled back. Ashton nodded and walked back outside.
"I'll get that for you."
I stopped myself from smiling for at least the hundredth time tonight as Dan leant over me to grab my jacket off my chair. I turned around and felt him slip it over my shoulders, I moved to put my arms through and turned back around to face him.
"Thank you." I smiled, moving my hair from underneath my jacket.
"No problem."
There was an awkward silence before he spoke again.
"It was nice to see you again tonight." He muttered, looking at me straight in the eyes.
"Yeah, I had a lot of fun, you're amazing at singing, I never even knew." I smiled.
"I wouldn't go that far." He chuckled, scuffing his feet on the wooden floor and looking down at his shoes.
"Are you kidding?" I laughed, moving my head underneath his so he was looking at me.
"Are you?" He laughed back.
"Whatever you say Dan...I thought you were amazing anyway." I mumbled, grabbing my bag off the table and putting it on my shoulder.
When I looked back up, he was undoubtedly more closer to me, looking down at me with a serious yet caring expression on his face. I stopped smiling and held the intense eye contact between us.
Before I could contemplate what was happening he moved his hand up to my face and positioned it so his thumb was stroking my cheek as he looked into my eyes. I looked over to his actions before back to him, feeling his warm hand underneath my jawline. He walked closer to me and bent his head down. I knew what was going to happen but I just couldn't bring myself to stop it, all I could do was stand there, still, in the moment.
"Not as amazing as you." He breathed against my face.
My eyes widened, but not in shock. I don't even know what it was, but it was something good, a good feeling.
I swear if there was nobody here to stop this, no-one here to stop me, I would have already kissed him right now, but I didn't have to, he already beat me to it. He looked at me one more time before leaning in and pressing his lips against mine, running his fingers through my hair and holding the back of my neck.
I leant further into his body, absorbing the warmth radiating off his clothes. He did the same, and we were now stood in a bar, held fimrly against one another, kissing.
We are..kissing.
What was..am I doing?
I pulled away reluctantly and stood there staring at him. I looked away and bit my lip.
"Dan..we can't." I mumbled looking at the ground.
He shook his head in disbelief before his eyes began to water, he looked over from me to the door, making me turn around myself. I heard him clear his throat behind me.
Ashton was stood in the doorway, holding his car keys in his hand, swinging them around his forefinger as he leant against the wall. He had no idea what had just happened.
"Vi? You ready to go?"
"Yeah.." I answered, doing up the zip on my jacket as I practically ran away from Dan. I didn't look back. Ashton waved goodbye to him before looking back at me, smiling down at me and leading me out the door.
