And that was that. I slept with Dan. Not in that way..just how it is literally worded.

And in the middle of the night, it was even more freezing than any other time of day. I was lying there, thinking about anything boring to get me back to sleep when I heard Dan tossing and turning; clearly in the same position as I was. He sighed as I felt his eyes stare on to my back, it was pitch black in the room but I could just tell he was looking at me. I began blinking my eyes as I bit my lip, waiting for one of us to say something when it felt like he almost read my mind.

"Violet.." Dan murmered, his voice croaky as he cleared his throat after he had spoken.

"Yeah?" I answered as I waited for his response.

"So you're awake. It's bloody freezing."

"I know.." I replied as I moved my body a little, getting a draft as I moved the bed cover closer to my body.

I felt Dan move closer to me like it was the most normal thing in the world, and carefully lay his arm over me as I was pulled closer to his body. I closed my eyes and smiled, he couldn't see me but this felt better than anything.

"Sorry..I'm just so cold." He lightly laughed as I sighed in happiness and moved my hand over his, interlocking our fingers together.

"You're warm." I whispered, my eyes still closed.

"I am now."

*Dan's POV*

The early morning sun crept in through the opening in the curtains now and again which kept me awake. Although it was sunny, the wind was cool; it blew into the room surrounding us both. Last night the weather was practically like we were involved in a windstorm, at least it had calmed down throughout the night but honestly I heard nothing. No thunderstorms, rain, hailstones, nothing..I was far too involved in one of the most deepest sleeps I have ever had.

Violet stirred slightly beside me as she pulled the duvet closer to her chest leaving me with practically nothing than the cold skin on my back. I smiled to myself as I sat up slowly and propped my arm up on my elbow, resting my head on my hand. I soon found myself watching her sleep, her chest rose and fell as she breathed lightly and silently. Sure, this was evidently quite creepy but I couldn't help myself.

It made me feel like the luckiest guy alive right now, to just be with Violet and see her in her truest form of innocence.

She moved once again in her sleep as her body became closer to me, probably because of the heat which was currently radiating off from me. It only took me a few seconds to realise she was now awake as I saw her stretch her arms a little and sigh, turning her body to face me.

Her eyes were still closed as she began to speak.

"Morning." She smiled.

"Morning."

"I can feel you watching me, you know." She smiled again as I looked away and then looked back.

I just kept on staring at her, which kind of sounds really weird..but it didn't feel it. Violet reluctantly opened her eyes, revealing the bright blue colour as she sighed and blinked a few times.

I had my own eyes fully open now, I felt refreshed..despite the grogginess of my movements.

"Are you hungry?" I asked after a few minutes.

"Starving." Violet replied before she sat up a little and stretched her arms, as if beginning to get up.

I reached my hand out to her and pulled her back into my chest as she looked back at me and smiled.
