Chapter 19

• Marije's POV •

" Skylynn, you have to go take a bath, okay your mom said for me to get you ready because you all are coming to my house for dinner. " I said with a smile

" REALLY WE ARE COMING OVER !" Skylynn said all happy.

" yep " I said popping the p. lol

I walked up stairs and started the bath for Skylynn, I put a lot of bubbles.

I left her for a minute so she could change, after she was done I walked in and helped her wash her hair.

We started laughing and then she said " Marije can you sing for me again ?"

I smiled and said " yes, of course. "

I went into her room and grabbed my guitar and started singing to her.

After 10 minutes she got out, I took her to her room and laid her clothes down and walked downstairs while she was changing.

I decided to clean the house before Mrs. Grier got back. I cleaned the kitchen, then the living room, the whole downstairs and then Skylynn came down.

We already cleaned her room so there was nothing else to do.

* 3 hours later *

Mrs. Grier walks in shocked " did you clean ?!?" She said

I smiled and said " yes."

" thank you, Marije thank you for everything " Mrs. Grier said

" no problem, see you in 2 hours " I said

" okay, bye " Mrs. Grier said

I walked home and started to help my mom cook, we were making ribs, stake, chicken, homemade mash potatoes, and a lot more.

We had 15 chairs outside on the deck, everything was done the Griers would be over in 30 mins. So I ran up stair, took a shower, then started getting ready.

I wore my red dress I bought at the mall with Skylynn, I really loved it. It is a tight red dress, it looked really pretty on me I thought. I curled the ends of my hair and put light makeup, this time I decided to put my contacts in.

I walked down stairs and I had to go slow because I was wearing heels for no reason, lmao.

I hear the doorbell ring and I walked to the door and opened it, all eyes were on me,

" Marije, you look beautiful " Mrs. Grier said

" Thank you, and you look beautiful as well " I said with a smile

They all walked in and I said hi to all except the boys.

Me and Skylynn went and sat next to each other, and on the other side of me was Mrs. Grier.

We prayed and then began to eat, the phone rang so I got up an answered it. It was my uncle from Albania, he didn't have good news.

I had to speak to him in Albanian because he didn't know how to speak in English.

" hello?" He said

" hi, how are you? " I said

" not good " he said

" what happened " I said

" your aunt, s-sh-she has breast cancer. " he said

" no, no you're lying ! " I said

" no, I'm not she really does have it ." He said

I took the phone to my dad with tears streaming down my face, everyone stood up and asked what was wrong I ignored everyone and ran back inside, I slammed my door, and cried and cried, until I had so more tears.

Then I hear a knock at the door, I yelled " LEAVE ME ALONE !" Then in walks my dad.

He sits next to me and I see a tear drop from his eye. " Marije, I know its hard but she will be okay. " my dad says

I then get up and yell " BUT WHAT IF SHE'S NOT SHE COULD DIE ! " then I stormed out the door put my vans on and left with my phone, purse and 100 dollars. I went though the back door and gave my mom and kiss on the forehead and then I had tears running down my face.

Right before I left my older brother Jonathan yells " MARIJE STOP ! "

I flick him off and then start running. I didn't care about anyone or anything anymore. Everything is just going bad. I hear someone behind me and it Skylynn. I stop and turn around. I get down on my knees and say to her "Skylynn, I'll be okay. I just have to get my mind off on all of this."

" Okay, I don't believe you." She said

" I promise you. " I say to her.

Then I walk her back because she can't walk back by herself so I walked back and everyone stood up and looked at me, I set her down and kiss her forehead then say looking at her

" Skylynn don't worry, I'll be okay. " I say

And she starts crying " don't go please Marije, please " she said crying in my shoulder.

" Skylynn I have to " I said and I took her to Mrs. Grier, she didn't want to let go of me, but I got her off of me and she made even louder sobs, I felt so bad, I didn't want to leave her like that, but I had to. no one understood me, and how I felt.

* 2 hours later *

I started walking back home from the park, then the Grier's door swings wide open and so does my door. Skylynn runs over to me and so does my family. I ignored my family and gave her a big hug.

I put her down then i said " I told you I wouldn't leave you "

A huge smile came on her face and I looked at my family and just pushed though them, I ran up to my room and locked the door. I changed into a sports bra and sweatpants.

Then I plugged in my phone, and got into bed. I feel asleep instantly.
