OMG.. What if my mom finds my story?! + Secret Identifies

Anything you post on the internet will be on the internet forever. You think, "I can just delete this story later if it's too racy or if I decide I hate it later?"  You can delete your copy of your story. The key words are "your copy".  You're delete story is still stored in some of the google search engines  and any software expert can pull up a deleted version of your story. 

It's unlikely that any software expert would waste their time to pull up your work, unless your mother or father has hired a secret spy to destroy your life. 

 You should never write anything you are embarrassed of or ashamed of! The internet is too powerful and people will eventually discover your real identity.  Before you throw stones and call me a hypocrite, then you should know that I don't post real pictures or share 'any real information'  on the internet. The reason is I try to keep my real life separate from my personal life.  It still makes me paranoid when people fan me and I see that they are from the same state. 

I wouldn't want to be judge everywhere I go for a story that is online and unedited. If some did find the story, the world wouldn't end because I am proud of everything I write and you should be too! 

And hello, did you see my novel? Their are two shirtless guys on the cover and the book is called 'Marked By Brothers! How much more racy could a young adult novel  be? And eventually, people in my real life are going to find it.  You may  be too worried  what your  family or friends think of your stories, but in the end, you write for yourself.  

And even if people (in your real life)  did find your story, what is the absolute worse thing they could say to hurt you? I could think of million hurtful remarks, but they can't take away your fans or your happiness.  We all have some extremely relatives that would cringe at the idea of reading a romance novel, let alone writing on!  Romance novels don't always have a good reputation and some people are too judgemental of the genre. People even go to some extremes to say that "Romance novels are not real novels!" 

 Statements like this are comical because Romance is the best selling genre of all time! Romance writers will make more money than any non-fiction writer on any day of the week!

Don't get too caught up on what people think or don't think! You're mother, father, and your entire family will eventually find your entire novel! 

When my story hit 100K views, I told my mother about the story and before I even pulled up the site, I warned her that the story was "racy". She told me that she could "handle it" .  I pulled up the site and she can't read past the summary. She was shocked that "her baby" was writing a romance novel.  But, in the end, she told she that she was proud that I had so many views and then she told me that I should think of self publishing the novel!  Now, who is the crazy one? 

And my father said,  "It doesn't matter what I think or your mother thinks! People like the story and that is all that matter. And I trust you. I trust your judgement." 

I'm sorry that my parents are cooler than yours! But, telling your family about your novel isn't nearly as terrifying as you think!  And if people truly love you, they will always support your dreams!
