Sadly, people don't always add you on watt pad because they like your writing. Sometimes, people will add you random or sometimes people will add as many people as possible! Woohoo! You have five thousand fake fans that don't know you or care about your writing! You must feel so popular!
I know that if someone has added me on wattpad and then has gone to the trouble to add me on facebook that they are a true fan! I notice that some writers only have a VERY small fan base on facebook and that is because they neglect their page.
Use Facebook as a marketing tool! People will start deleting you if you stop posting status updates! Yeah I'd delete you too if you haven't updated your status since 2005! I would shoot for a few weekly updates.
It's always nice to have one personal Facebook and another one for writing. Because you are promoting your writing and not your personal life!
And only accept people that are fans of your writing! People who add randomly should be shot and are just a waste of space!
Apparently, their is also a max of friends on facebook! I believe the max of friends on facebook is near five thousand but if you want to reach beyond five thousand, you can add a fan page where an unlimited amount of people can 'like' the page!
:) Book trailers are good exposure but I wouldn't personally advertise to people on utube, unless I was 100% satisfied with my novel. The reason being is the people on utube are looking for a more polished book. I see so many mean reviews of published books on utube lol
