D E D I CA T ION/breaks- The choice is yours...... *more serious!*
You have more power and strength you realize. And every day, you make a choice to write or not to write. I can encourage you to write everyday but I can't physically force you to write.
I think writing everyday not only helps you improve, but it helps you stay dedicated to your dreams. Everyday, you are working toward a dream and everyday you have to convince yourself that you are one close step to fullfilling that dream.
I find that just writing this silly writing journal helps me stay dedicated to my own stories. Now it' s no secret that if you aren't writing everyday, then you are not improving as fast as you could be. I'm against long breaks because you will lose focus of your goals too fast. And I feel like when you write everyday, the story becomes a part of you.
Being a writer becomes part of your idenity. It's not about gaining a lot of fans or views, it's about following a dream. While I'm against extremly long breaks, I think some short breaks are essential.
Well a few days ago, I decided to go on hiatus. I was having a hard time planning out the second part of my novel. I love to write just as much as the next writer, but planning out a smooth ending has always been a hard challenge for me.
I thought about the story day and night, but I couldn't think of a decent ending. In fact, I was so angry at myself that I could bare sleep at night.
The best thing I did was turn off the computer off. I have read so many books in the past four days. I let my mind relax and the ideas came flowing in. It also helped that I couldn't turn on my computer because it physcially wouldn't turn on. Yes, my computer crashed which is why you haven't heard from me in a while. And my laptop is still in re-pair shop. I'm writing from a slow, annoying desktop!
And I actually have forgotten how much I loved reading published books. And I've also come to the conclusion that there are several published books that pale in comparion to some fo the creative tales on watt pad! I wish I could see some of the stories on wattpad in print!
~Ciao, my lovelies! Have a peaceful weekend!~
