Writing Goals, Challenges And Schedule: Short Post
I think it's important for every writer to set goals. Even if you have writing for years, set goals because it helps you stay motivated. I think it's important to set short terms goal. Start off by trying to finish one novel or short stories. Short stories (in my opinion) sometimes can more challenging than writing novels. They may take less time but it's pretty difficult to write a beginning, middle, and end with in ten pages!
But the thing with a short story is that it only takes a few weeks to complete and then it's finished. Also, you don't necessary have to write a two hundred page novel because sticking to the same story for so can become a chore. You can start of by writing short novels that are only fifty pages in length.
Challenges: My challenge is for you all the silent readers, votes, and commenters is to set ONE new writing goal. Maybe it's to finish a novel or it could be to update more.
My first goal= To Write six Pages on word every day.
My second goal= Complete my current novel by the end of the summer!
~ Writing Schedule ~
I was thinking about creating a writing schedule for myself after I was reading Katie Cruz's comment about procastination. And she was saying how she dedicates certain days to replying to comments and I was thinking, "That is a brilliant idea!"
I'm totally stealing your idea, Katie! In all seriouness, I'm going to have spend way less time on here and learn how to manage my time better. I spend (an unbelievable) time replying to fans, answering questions, talking to people, reading stories, and reviewing work.
And if that continues, then I will not finish my novel and won't pass my intense math courses! And besides that time would be better spent writing and I need the practice.
I'm writing this and it's near 2:00 am! It sucks so bad that we as human need sleep to function! Seriously, human beings are lazy! For eight hours every night, we are just laying in bed. If there was more time in the day, life would be so much easier!
Point is: Think of how much time we spend watching TV or doing this or that? We always have to 'make time' for our work! Plus, I need more time in the day because my summer is going to be extremely hectic and I need to learn how to balance everything. I'm thinking of dedicating Saturday and Sundays to watt pad 'fun' days and I'll be too busy to sleep for the rest of the week ; )
Maybe, I'll ask Katie for advice since she's the superwoman of wattpad!
