Max🐾

I talked to Jason the rest of the way fine. I don't think he brought up Clover again after that. When we got to school, I stood by the fence on the outside with Jason.

I spotted Melissa coming my way with her other two friends, Daisy, and Erin. Daisy went over to talk with Jason, while Melissa stayed with me. Erin went to talk to one of my other friends, Junior.

"Hey. Haven't seen you all summer." She smirked.

"Same. I wish I could have. But, at least we get to hang out at school. Right?"

"Yeah." She stepped closer to me.

"This year is gonna be chill. No soccer this year."

"Aww. I was just about to try out for cheerleading."

"You where? That's awesome! I'd bet you make a great one.

"Yeah? Why is that?"

"Because you're beautiful, and smart, and nice." I blushed.

She stroked my chin, looking straight into my eyes. I wanted to kiss her so bad. I didn't know if she wanted that though.

She whispered, "What? What is it?"

I guess I was making a weird face, but I didn't notice. "Nothing." I bit my lip.

"Is there anything you want to do?" She leaned in, our noses almost touching.

"Yes." I answered inching in a little closer.

"What is it?" She still said in her quiet voice.

I leaned in to kiss her, our lips where a millimeter away.

Ring!

It startled me. She walked away and into the crowd of kids entering the school. Dammit! I was so close.

I decided to wait a bit before entering. I didn't wanna die after all. I noticed a kid on the floor, but then I realized it was Clover.

I didn't know what to do. She was getting killed out there, but people would stare if I helped her.

Finally, I decided to walk over and help. Just as I got her hand in range, somebody suddenly jolted her to her feet, carrying her in the air for a second, beating me to it.

I back away. But, I still wanted to make sure that she was okay, but when I noticed who it was, I stepped even further back. It was Terry. Terry Molse. He picked her up.

I got even more surprised when he was almost on top of her, millimeters away from her nose. He stroked her hair and her cheek. When I saw that, I suddenly got this angry feeling. I wanted to separate Terry and Clover. I couldn't have explained why though. It was such a weird urge that my brain gave.

Before I knew it, I found myself walking back towards them.

I was just about to say something, but then Terry got off her and started walking away.
She asked for his name, of course he gave her suspensive name. You know, when you say your first name, and then your full name for effect.

I cringed at his walking away mysteriously as she stayed half open-mouthed facing in his direction.

I decided it was best if I just headed to first period, since the crowd had died down, and I wanted to clear my mind.

I made it to my Algebra class and just sat down in the last row, like I always do, just so I don't get called upon by the teacher too often. In the Algebra II class next to mine I suddenly heard a rowse of applause followed by the words "Yeah!" And, "Terry!"

He was always in the advanced classes. Always got awards at the end of the year too. It was never really a thing I tried to do, but I guess it could have made me even more popular.

I almost fell asleep in class. You know how when you yawn your eyes get teary? Well, my class was crying!

That's how bored everyone was. I could tell I would dread this class. I went to my next period, which was World History. That one was a bit better, and I'm sorry history, but I think you're better of in history.

Lunch was next and I was looking foward to seeing Melissa, hopefully continuing from where we left off. Jason came strolling along and sat next to me. "Where's your little girlfriend?" He asked.

"Melissa isn't here yet. And shut up." I nudged him on the shoulder.

"I don't mean Melissa," he entoned.

"Then who could you possibly be talking about." I said impatiently.

"The new girl of course. The one who you were chatting with in the bus and smiling at."

"What?! I was not. You're imagining things." I blushed.

"Whatever dude. I'm just telling you what I saw, I didn't expect you to admit it," he said getting up from my side. "Just tell me when I need to say I told you so."

"I'm interested in Melissa. You know that! So, just, go away or something."

He walked away chuckling at my comment. I sat there and continued to take out my lunch. I suddenly saw a strand of red hair through the door window and automatically knew who it was.

I saw her come out of the halls, her hair as flawless as always. She looked at me and made a cute smirk. She walked over and sat down to eat her lunch that she had in her bookbag. She stared at me while eating her salad, but we still had not spoken a single word to each other.

When we were done, she said, "Hey let's go. Follow me."

She grabbed my hand and lead me all the way to a classroom that was in the old middle school building. Specifically, our old homeroom that we had back in the in the seventh grade.

"Soooo, what do you think?"

I smiled. "I love it. It's great."

"So, about earlier. We were kinda in the middle of something."

Those were the exact words I was hoping to hear. But they suddenly didn't excite me quite as much. I still smiled and made her smile.

I was standing behind a chair in the front of the class and Melissa walked over to me. She placed her right knee on the chair and leaned in close to to my lips.

"W-what are you doing?" I suddenly lost my cool.

"What are you waiting for? Didn't you want to do something before?" She got slightly flustered.

"I mean, maybe what we were doing before wasn't right, but then again-" I tried to avoid what was coming, but I was interrupted.

She moved swiftly and stole a kiss from me. I just stood there wondering if I should kiss back or let her know that I was uncomfortable.

She pulled away, "What's wrong Max?"

I looked at her and made up my mind, "Nothing is wrong. Everything is just right." I pulled her back in and kissed her back.
