Terry's point of view for this chapter, just thought I should give an insight on him.

Terry 🌳

"Oh boy," I sighed with Clover on my chest.

Melissa kissed Max, but you could tell neither of them enjoyed it very much. Me and Clover didn't say anything until we went inside Starbucks. This one in particular had two floors, so we would take the elevator.

"You haven't had much experience here, right?"

"Yeah, I've only been here once."

"Want me to surprise you? I'll get you the same as me."

"Sure, as long as it's not pure coffee."

"It's not, don't worry your lovely self," I made her blush as she held my hand and I lead her to a chair.

I stood in line, while Max and Melissa stood in the other. Clover and I had recently gotten real close. Ever since we met, she's the person who knows me best. From my accent, to my weird obsession with Marvel, and DC, which she happens to share. We have lunch together sometimes, and she's just...she's just the best. I really like her. I think she likes me too, but one thing is still stopping me from making another move...Max. It's so obvious that they have a thing, I don't know if I can compete with that. He's my friend, so I can't just push him out of the way. I can tell that she likes him, maybe even more than me. I shouldn't worry about that though, at least for now. He has a girlfriend. If he makes any move while he has a girlfriend, I won't let him near Clover.

I ordered two Java Chip Frappuchinos. I love them, and I'm hoping Clover will like it too. I glanced over at her, remembering when she told me that she would pay for herself, but I couldn't let her do that. I walked over and sat down in front of her.

I handed Clover her drink, eager to see her reaction. I popped in the straw.

"Here you go, beautiful."

"Thanks, what is it?"

"It's not poison, so, drink it and I'll tell you afterward."

She took a small sip, followed by another one. She smiled and started drinking it eagerly. I couldn't help but chuckle at her delight.

"So, I'm guessing you liked it?"

"Mhmm, yes, it is so good, I think it's the best thing I've ever had! It's cold and chocolatey, now can you tell me what it is?"

"It's a Java Chip Frappuchino. It has a bit of chocolate and not much caffeine, which I like."

"I love it! Hey, where's Max? Did he leave with Melissa?"

"No they're one table over. You wanna sit with them?"

"Um, don't know if that's a good idea. I feel like Melissa doesn't like me."

"Nonsense, everyone likes ya- you. I'm sure it's just in your head. C'mon, let's sit next to them."

She nodded her head and I grabbed her delicate hand. When me and Clover sat down, Max's expression completely lit up. He looked so relieved, while Melissa looked disgusted.

"Hey, mind if we join you?"

"Not at all, please do," Max answered.

"Great," I smiled.

"Melissa, you know Terry, right?" Max asked Melissa.

"Terry who?" Melissa rolled her eyes.

"I'm Terry Molse, I would've thought that you had heard of me."

"Terry Molse! Yes, of course, you're like, the most popular guy in school! Even more popular than Max over here."

I chuckled awkwardly as she said that. Maybe it wasn't such a great idea to sit with them after all.

Melissa turned her attention towards Clover. "You're the blind girl, right?"

Clover looked surprised to be adressed. "Y-yeah,  but you know, my name is-"

"So Terry, how did you meet miss blind over here? Were you forced to greet her because of the school, or something?" she ignored Clover.

"Or something, yeah, I met Clover the first day of school. I saved her from the hallway crowd. She's actually really great," I defended her, then reached for her hand for good measure. I know a snake like Melissa just wants popularity, I'm not stupid.

She cleared her throat," Well, I'm going to go, bye Max, see you at school Terry, and you too Clifford."

"My name is-" Clover tried to say once more but Melissa shut the door behind her before she could finish.

"Ugh, Clover I am so sorry, I don't know why she treated you that way," Max apologized.

"Yeah, you're going out with a snake. I didn't say anything cause I'm not her boyfriend, but you are! You let her say those things!" I scolded.

"Guys, it's fine, I'm fine, I knew she didn't like me. I just thought she would give me a little more respect. I wasn't expecting that level of ignoring. Terry, thanks for what you did back there, it was sweet. I think we should go. I had a great time, I'm definitely drinking this again," Clover smiled.

"You're right. I-uh-Max I'm sorry, I kind of snapped. So, we'll see you on Monday."

"Yeah, this was pretty fun, we should do it again, but without, Melissa."

I grabbed Clover and we left. I ordered a cab to come pick us up and he first drove to Clover's house.

When we got there, she insisted she could get inside herself, but I got out of the cab and waited for her to open the door. Her parents weren't home yet, so it would just be her.

"Did you really like it?" I asked.

"Yes, don't worry, and thanks again for saying that to Melissa."

"It's true, you really are great. You're pretty too, even of you don't believe me."

She giggled at my comment.

"Hey Clover?" I called.

"Yeah?"

"Could I come inside for a sec?"

"What for?" she asked suspiciously.

"I just need to do something and I think showing you outside is pretty awkward," I made up an excuse.

"Ok then, just a moment."

She lead me inside and she let the door almost close behind us.

"What did you need to show me?"

"How much I like you," I put my hand on her cheek and kissed her, I finally kissed her.
