Max🐾
After she pulled away, I swore I heard footsteps. It didn't matter, I had a girlfriend now.
We walked back to class and found the Biology room. Before I entered the class, I saw Terry and his friend Sam arguing in the hallway.
"Whatever, you're just-" Sam walked away. Terry entered the class and I followed.
Clover was there, and Terry sat next to her. I decided to sit on the other side of her. Our teacher was the same boring story but we managed to get through the class. I had gotten A.P. World History and left to find the class the second the bell rang.
Clover was in that class too, I was going to sit next to her again, but I saw Melissa calling me to sit next to her behind Clover.
The school bell finally rang, announcing the end of the first day.
I kissed Melissa goodbye and found my bus. I also found Clover sitting in the same spot as before. I sat down and decided to tease her.
"Hey, we really need to talk about where you put things," I told her.
She blushed and pushed her things over to give me space and then asked, "So, how was your summer?"
We started talking and didn't stop until it was her stop and she got off. She told me how her favorite color was purple and her middle name was Nicole. She also told me a little bit of the story with her blindness involved and how it was easy to deal with it now.
Soon, it was my turn to get off and I entered my house happily. I grabbed a tangerine before I went upstairs to the second floor of my townhouse.
My mom would be here soon, so I got a head start on making dinner, since she wouldn't have time.
When I was done, I sat down and texted Melissa:
Me: Hey
Melissa: Hey, cutie ;-)
Me: What you up to?
Melissa: I actually can't talk right now, I'm in the middle of an episode.
Me: Oh, that's fine. Cya!
Hmmmm.... That's okay I guess, I bet it's like a series finale or something. I turned off my phone just as I heard my mom's keys open the lock on the door.
"Hey sweetie! How was your first day?" she smiled brightly.
"It was fine, I saw Jason, we hung out, I got a girlfriend, I saw the blind girl today, and I liked my classes," I hoped she noticed I included the girlfriend part.
"Woah, woah, woah, mister, you got a girlfriend?" she she scrunged up her nose.
"Y-yeah, you've met her. Her name is Melissa," I waited for her lecture on why she wasn't right for me.
"Well...she isn't exactly what I pictured for your first girlfriend, but if you like her champ, I guess I'm happy for you," she smiled and pushed her short brown hair out of her face.
I hugged her and told her I had made dinner.
The next morning I did my same morning routine and I got on the bus, eager to get to school and see Melissa. I walked in and was greeted by Terry sitting next to Clover, where I had sat the day before. She wasn't facing him and she looked uncomfortable.
I opened my mouth to say something, but I quickly shut it after I glanced over at Jason behind them smirking at me and nodding his head in Clover's direction.
I sat behind them with him.
"Where you disappointed that you didn't get to sit next to you're girlfriend?" he teased.
"N-no, I just didn't recognize Terry. And by the way, I have a girlfriend now, and her name is Melissa," I said proudly.
"Woah, look at you. I guess I should ask out Daisy now."
"Yeah, so, I hope this proves my point."
"Sure, okay whatever."
We got to school and I found Melissa leaning on the outside fence of the school.
I walked over and she kissed me, as a greeting. Jason went over to Daisy and pulled her aside.
I was rooting for him, and I knew it went well the second Daisy wrapped her arms around his neck.
It didn't seem long until the bell rang and we had to go inside.
"See you in lunch?" I called after her.
She didn't look back, but answered, "Sure."
I smiled and found my even day classes. We had block scheduling, so today I had another set of four classes.
My first one was Italian and I found it close to the auditorium.
It wasn't too bad of a class, but I was seriously bored of hearing the teacher talk.I got out of there and went over to the gym by the cafeteria. Our coach was pretty cool, he was going to really make us do stuff this year unlike all the lazy middle school coaches.
Lunch finally came and I was so thrilled to hear the bell. I went to the cafeteria and reserved my friends a spot. Jason came with Daisy and they sat down.
"Hey guys, have class together?" I asked.
"Yeah, we have almost the exact same schedule on even days," Daisy exclaimed.
"Yeah, guess we got lucky," Jason chimed in.
"You guys seen Melissa? She is usually the first one here, or at least the second," I changed the subject.
"Nope," they answered.
I was going to get up from my seat but I was rapidly seated back down and someone covered my eyes. "Guess who."
"Melissa?"
"You know it," she whispered.
She uncovered my eyes and sat down next to me. Maybe, I had just no perception of time today it was proba ly my imagination that she was late, she was as lovely as always.
"Were you guys talking about me?" she asked.
"Just wondering where you were," I replied.
We had a good lunch after that and I left the table early since my class was in the other building.
I finished my last two classes and went to the buses.
Clover was alone again, so I decided: I should sit with her, I have nowhere better to sit anyway.
Upon putting my things on the seat somebody called my name.
"Hey, Max, haven't seen you in a while, Buddy," Terry held out his hand to shake mine, but I decided not to stick mine out.
"Hello to you too," I gritted my teeth.
"So, anyway, this seat right here," he pointed next to clover. "I kind of separated it with a jacket."
He picked up the jacket thrown on the seat and held it up for me. "So, I'd like to notify you that there is no room there buddy, but you can sit right here in back of us if you like."
"How come your sitting there anyway?" I asked annoyed at the sight of him.
"Wouldn't want to leave my girlfriend alone here, would I?"
Sorry about the speedy part today, I wanted to get one out today and I wanted to include everything I could before I had to end the part. Hope you guys are enjoying the book by the way.
