Clover🍀
I couldn't believe what Max was telling me. This was my chance to see him. The world, my parents. How could I say no?
"Okay," I answered.
"Okay?"he said unsure.
"Yeah, let's do it," I said laughing.
"Really?!" He said in disbelief.
"Yes, yes, call the doctors and tell them that I'll start next week!"
He picked me up and spun me around.
I hugged him tight.
"Thank you," I whispered. "Thank you for being in my life."
The procedure all in all took about a year. In total, but it was worth it.
The day finally came. I walked into the medical center and went into my usual room.
Before they injected anesthesia, I thought:
Let this be the last time I see only darkness. That I can be lost in my thoughts so easily. I want to see Max. I want my life back, I want my life back. I...want...my...Max...
I was then out cold, for what I was told was about 7 hours. Max waited outside for me. He didn't fall asleep, he was there, he was ready for me.
I heard him come in. The doctor said that I was now allowed to take my bandage off. To open my eyes.
Did it work? Is this actually happening?
"Max? Are you, is that you?" I asked to make sure.
"Yes," he said choking up a little. "It's me Clover. Open your eyes."
I took the bandage off. My eyes were still closed. I felt the sun on my eyes.
I slowly opened them.
I saw my hands. I looked at them. I put them on my eyes. Just to make sure I could see them. I took them off my face, I saw Max.
Was that him? Is that him?
He reached out his hand. I grabbed it.
"Ma-Max?" I asked.
"Clover."
He had brown eyes and brown hair. His hair was in locks. His eyes, they shined like a star. His lips were pressed.
I put my hand on his cheek, it felt the same as when I first felt it. I reached to wipe a tear from his eyes.
He leaned in closer and I leaned in too. We kissed.
I pulled away and ran towards the window.
"The sky, the sky, clouds!" I looked out the window. I saw the blue sky, I saw the green grass. I saw cars in the parking lot. I looked and saw roads. I saw a person walking a dog.
Max came and put his arm around me.
A few moments later there was a knock at the door.
Two adults came in. These two people, I knew they were my parents.
"Mom! Dad!...Mom, Dad," I said hugging them both as they cried.
"My little girl," my mom said.
I spent a lot of time in their arms. Next came a familiar long haired peppy girl wearing a headband. And a boy that was holding her hand.
"Kiki, Sebastian!" I hugged them both.
"Clover, you can see my face! You saw Max! Oh, you can see!"
I thought it was over. Then a tall guy walked in. "Clover?" He said.
I didn't think I would recognize him, but it was Terry. "Terry!" I ran over and hugged him. He carried me slightly off the ground.
"Clover, you can see me? You can see me!"
He lifted me one more time and then I took everything in.
The doctor took a picture of us. All of us.
I rode home that day, I looked everywhere in awe. When I got home, I asked Max to show me what Teal looked like. By this time, Max and I had moved in together. I saw our house for the first time. It was beautiful. I saw vegetables again and I looked at a book shelf. I would need help getting to read again with ease. I saw our TV. I looked at the color purple again.
That day, was truly the greatest day of my life. I'll never forget it.
Nobody may ever know why I was blind, but I know why I'm able to see. It was Max. It was Max all along.
I remember feeling strange the day that my sight went away. But, that wasn't the strange feeling that lead to my happiness. I was blind for so many years, Max loved me for half of them. At first I couldn't see it. At first, I didn't believe that anybody could be in love with a blind girl.
So I thank you Max. I thank you for being in my life.
It felt strange. It felt strange to fall in love. Especially, because after all these years, I'm finally not, I'm not...Blind to Your Love
I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I have. This is truly one of my favorite ideas for a book I have had so far. I think it was a good ending. It gave me a sense of accomplishment. I really put some thought into these last few chapters. Now, I am free to write in my other story, which is currently on hold since I really wanted to finish this one. Thank you to anyone who has taken the time to read my creation, it really isn't that special, but It's the first story I have ever finished. It means a lot to me. Anyway, thanks for reading. Now, Byyyyyyeeeeeee....
