Austin's POV
After a long trip back to Earth, we arrived back at the Farm. I landed the ship next to a soccer field as we all got off. I looked around the place out of curiousity, hearing Ruby's excitement.
Ruby: Look what I found!
She had managed to find a soccer ball among the various scrap piles that were around the farm.
Yang: Awesome.
Sun: Let's play a quick match.
Weiss: Will you guy's focus? We're still on a mission.
Austin: No, go ahead.
Weiss: Wait, what?
Ruby: Yes!
Ren: What about you?
Austin: I'm going to be with the Vanguard, see if they have a plan ready.
Jaune: You sure about this?
Austin: Oh yeah, have some fun together. You guys deserve it.
Ruby: Awesome! Team RWBY vs team JNRS.
Sun: Juniors?
I began to walk away as they discussed teams. I opened the barn door to see the Vanguard talking among one another. They paused their conversation to look over in my direction.
Zavala: Titan. A pleasure to see you back.
Cayde: Where's your friends?
Austin: They're out in the field relaxing.
Ikora: Regardless, we have much to discuss.
Like old times, we stood around a table, discussing Ghaul and the Almighty. Cayde spoke with a chicken in his arms.
Cayde: So you're saying we're damned if we do and we're damned if we don't.
Zavala: On the contrary, now that we're back together we all might stand a chance.
Ikora: The fact is if we destroy that weapon, it will ignite a chain reaction that could send our sun into a supernova.
Cayde: Well....At least we have each other.
Zavala: Indeed. We all know what needs to be done. The Traveler must be freed.
Cayde: I'm thinking the four of us and a big, fat pile of explosives can get the job done.
???
Cayde: Look. I still have that Vex teleporter. It's got limited range so we'll have to get a little too close for comfort.
Zavala: Then we'll have to get through the City walls to use it then.
Ikora: But without the light, an outright assault on the City is doomed to fail. We could-.
Austin: Even with the Light, the place would be covered in darkness. We all would have one shot.
Ikora: There will be no coming back.
Cayde: It's worth the risk.
Zavala: But how do we get in?
Hawthorne: You know...
We all looked around to find Hawthorne sitting on the barn floor above us.
Hawthorne: The City is a lot like this barn. There are many places to slip in unseen, as long as you know how.
She jumped down from her spot and approached the table.
Cayde: You sure you're not one of my Hunters?
