Austin's POV
Sitting outside on the roof of our base of operations, I began to think about Earth and whether Remnant's problems could spread out across the galaxy. My thoughts were interrupted by small footsteps approaching me.
Austin: Yes love?
Blake: It's not Yang.
Austin: Oh. Whoops.
Blake: I'm just gonna pretend you didn't say that.
Austin: Please do. You need something?
Blake: Yeah, but it's....it's hard for me to say it.
Turning around to face her, I saw a hint of worry in her eyes.
It must be personal.
Austin: It's just the two of us.
Blake: I know but....I....I just need a favor.
Austin: Anything.
Blake: I need to back to Menagerie; I need to know that my parents are okay.
Oh. That's it?
Stretching a bit, I stood up and began to walk away from her.
Austin: Okay then. Let me just go get-.
Blake: No.
Austin: What?
Blake: Just the two of us. I just don't want Ruby and Yang to be worried about it.
Thinking about how the two of them were when I fell off the ship during the Cabal invasion proved a point. I sighed as I muttered to myself, knowing what might happen to me.
Austin: Yang's gonna kill me for this.
Blake: I assumed Saladin would.
Austin: He'll just kill me physically. Yang will just gut me both physically and mentally.
Blake: She won't do that to you.
Austin: Oh you have no idea.
A bit of silence followed.
Austin: Let's go then.
Looking at the night sky, I continued.
Austin: We can make it back before sunrise if we go now. Ghost.
Ghost: Informing everyone of our departure.
The ship was summoned over the two of us. As I placed a hand on Blake to take her into the ship, two more voices were heard from behind me.
Sun: Blake!
Cayde: Guardian!
Blake: Crap.
Austin: Fuck....What, you two?
