Lucy's POV

I've been texting and talking on the phone with Ansel constantly for the past few days. It's been 5 days since I last saw him. It feels like forever. I don't want to rush into anything, but I already think I might have established feelings for him... Somewhat.

My phone rings. I look on the caller ID to see Ansel's name. My day automatically brightens.

"Hey! So I have an idea..." Ansel says, his voice filled with anticipation.

"Hello to you, too, Ansel. What would that idea be?"

"We should go, drum roll please.... To the zoo! For date number two! Get it? It rhymed!" he says, very excitedly. Wow.

"Yeah, I got it. That sounds great."

We agree to meet there in an hour. that gives me enough time to look presentable. Hopefully.

Ansel's POV

"Hey, mom," I say as I come down the stairs.

"Hi, Hun! What are you doing today?"

"I'm going to the zoo with my friend, Lucy." I'm not quite sure what to call her yet. Friend works... For now.

"Ooooh. Who's Lucy? Have I met her before?" She asks.

"No, because I don't want you to meet her."

"Ansel! Why not? I'm not THAT embarrassing!" My mom says.

"I just don't know how I feel about her yet. I don't know if she's a friend, or more than a friend." It's true. I've known Lucy for a week now. I can't interpret my feelings for her yet. It's too soon, in my opinion.

"Well, when you decide, I'll be waiting. Have fun at the zoo!" And with that, my mother walks out, leaving me and my jumbled thoughts alone in the room.

I grab my car keys and go to the car. I still have plenty of time before I have to meet Lucy. I know just how to kill the time..
