Chapter 11

Lucys POV

We have been walking around the zoo for hours. Being here with Ansel has made me never want to leave.

"Hey, do you wanna go see the gorillas? They're one of my favorites." Ansel says.

"No way! I love gorillas too!"

We get to the gorilla exhibit and I realize I had forgotten how huge they are. They're a bit scary. One of them has a staring contest with Ansel. Ansel loses.

Next, we go to the tigers. Then the meerkats. Then the reptiles. Then the birds. Then the polar bears. You get the idea.

It shocks me how Ansel is afraid of rollercoasters but not any of the animals we've seen. He's a strange man, that's for sure.

As we are leaving the zoo, I decide to go out on a limb.

"So, Ansel. Do you want to come over and watch a movie?"

"I thought you'd never ask! I'll follow you there." He accepts my offer with a huge grin.

I decide to call my mom to make sure she and Brandon will be on their best behavior. She doesn't answer so I have to leave a message.

"Mom? Hey. I'm bringing a friend home. Don't be embarrassing. And give that message to Brandon, too. Okay, bye."

If Ansel and I have a future together, this meeting of the family is inevitable. Better sooner than later, huh?
