Lucy's POV

I'm walking on a beach. The sun is out, but it's not too hot. I decide to go into the ocean to swim. I take off my swimsuit coverup and splash through the water until I can barely touch the bottom.

Suddenly something pulls me under, grabbing my ankle. I try to swim back up but I can't. It's pulling me down deeper and deeper into the unknown.

But I don't panic.

I'm safe. I know I am. I don't know how I know, but I'm safe. Whatever happens, I'll be fine.

As soon as I stop struggling, the thing lets go of me and I calmly float back towards the surface.

It's almost as if I've grown gills in the last minute. I don't need air, but I welcome it to fill my lungs anyway.

I get back onto the warm sand before I can get taken by the waves again.

I see a shadowy figure walking towards me. The glare of the sun is blocking out their face.

As they get closer, I see its a boy. As he gets even closer, I realize its Ansel. I run up to him and wrap my arms around him.

"Babe!" I pull back from him and notice he's glowing. "Wait.. Am I dead or something?"

"Lucy, you're dreaming. You're okay. You're safe with me."

He takes my hand as we walk along the beach together. A perfect paradise.

I wake up feeling awesome for the first time in a long time. I feel well-rested, pleased, and happy.

"Good morning, sunshine." A sleepy Ansel says next to me. He is looking at me like I'm the only other person in the world. "How'd you sleep?"

"Great. You?"

"Best sleep of my life. Mostly because you were right next to me."

I kiss his cheek. I am so in love with this boy.

Last night, Ansel saw me in a vulnerable state that nobody else ever has seen me in. I trust him more than anyone now and I'm more comfortable with him than anyone else.

"I can't believe last night actually happened." I say.

"I know.. I'm so glad it did, though. It made me realize I love you one thousand times more than before. It was perfect." He smiles. I smile back.

"I feel the same way."

It truly was perfect. I couldn't imagine doing that with any other person.

"Last night was by far the best night of my life. We should do it again."

I laugh, "Not so fast, lover boy."

"What?" He says innocently.

"Ansel, you make me so happy. I thought I would regret last night but I don't at all. I love you so much."

We kiss, the same fireworks going off that have been there since day one.

"So, I have to plan my date now.." I say.

"What's it gonna be?" Ansel questions.

"I can't tell you." I tap his nose. "It's a surprise. You'll love it though. Next Saturday. Good?"

"It's a date. Literally."

{hey! I didn't want to actually go into detail about the story's 'behind-the-scenes' event. I don't want to make the story awkward & I don't know how old all of y'all are!
Question of the chapter: what do you think Lucy has planned for their date?! )
