Lucy's POV

"Absolutely." He says, with no hesitation.

"Seriously?" I ask.

"Yeah, why's it hard to believe?" He asks, confused.

"Well, first, you're in college-"

"Believe it or not, some people actually use their time to study in college." He laughs.

"Okay, I get that. But second, you're gorgeous. And you're the sweetest and funniest guy I've ever met."

"Thank you. And like I said, you're the most serious relationship I've had. I wouldn't sleep with someone unless I knew we might have a future together." He explains.

"I love you," I say. "You say all the right things." I kiss him.

He pulls away and says, "Lucy, are you a virgin?"

"Of course. Like I said, you're the first guy I've ever loved."

"I'm glad it's that way." Ansel says and smiles.

We got caught up in watching a movie and eventually I fall asleep.

By the time I wake up and check my phone it's 8:18 AM.

I try to wake Ansel up, who I was laying on most of the night. Oops.

"Hey, Ansel, I have to go home." I shake him and he wakes up.

"What? Why?" His voice groggy.

"Because my parents will be awake." I say. Normally I would take my time in getting home but now that my dad is back, I can't get away with this stuff. Even though my dad and I are close, he still has rules.

"Can't you just say you spent the night at a friend's house?" He begs.

"Ansel, I don't have any friends." I say.

"That's bullshit." He says in his sleepy voice.

"It's not. And even if I did have friends, I already told them I was coming here." I give him a kiss on the lips, grab my stuff, and head upstairs. I just hope I don't pass anyone on the way out.

"Wait," I hear Ansel say. I turn around, "Aren't you going to let me walk you out?" He smirks.

Once we're up the stairs I try to sneak to the front door but his mom is sipping her coffee in the living room.

"Good morning sunshines! Lucy, are you staying for breakfast?" She says, cheerily.

"No, ma'am. I have to get home. Thanks for the offer, though." I say with my best manners.

"Yeah we stayed up late watching a movie and Lucy was too tired to drive home." Ansel explains.

"You're welcome any time, Lucy. Have a good day!" Ansel's mom says.

"You too, Mrs. Elgort." I say. We walk onto the porch. Ansel closes the front door behind us.

"Last night was, for lack of a better word, fun?" Ansel says. "I mean, how often do you get to see your boyfriend kick a guy's ass?"

I laugh, "Don't get too full of yourself. He hit you, too."

"Yeah, true, but good thing I have abs of steel so it didn't hurt much."

I laugh again, "Yeah, okay. I have to go. I'll call you later." I pull him down to my height and gently kiss him. "I love you, Ansel Elgort."

"And I love you, Lucy Taylor."
