Jules

I am going stir crazy in this waiting room; the last time I waiting in a sterile waiting room like this is when I was twelve and mama died. It is giving me the creeps and making me really anxious. I kill time by looking at my social media accounts and changing my relationship status to married. My phone kept buzzing with congratulatory messages; I also changed my profile picture to my little family at the zoo. My phone rings and I look the screen; it's daddy.

"Hi daddy," I say.

"Hi mi amor, how is Joaquin?"

"I don't know; he is still in surgery. The not knowing is making me crazy." I say with a sigh.

"Oh mija just have faith, he will be fine. Have you eaten?

"No, not yet,"

"Are you hungry?"

"I am really hungry but I don't want to leave him daddy."

"I'll be right there." He hangs up.

I catch up on my emails and look at my classroom roster; I can't wait to start school. An email catches my eye it is from the principal of the school. It is addressed to me as Juliana Munoz-Ortega and makes my heart skip a beat when I see my new name.

Dear Juliana,

I am beyond thrilled to have you come aboard as our new kindergarten teacher. First and foremost I would like to congratulate you on your recent marriage and adoption of your daughter (your daddy told me today) I wanted to reach out and let you know that we have a spot for her in our daycare in the school. It's not only a daycare but a school setting so they are prepared when they start actual preschool. If you are interested please let me know. I know that she is wheel chair bound for a few weeks; we will be more than happy to make accommodations for her. See you this weekend when you set up your class room. Heres to an amazing school year.

All the best,

Mrs. Maria-Elena Chavez

Wow, they are willing to let Trinity go daycare at the school, that would be amazing. I hadn't thought about what I was going to do with Trinity while we went to work; I mean Sabrina couldn't watch her now that Alexis is born. It would be amazing for her to learn and be ahead of the game when she starts preschool. I think she would love it; I'll have run it by Gordo first. The door opens and daddy walks in; his arms full of fast food. My hero. I get up and help with the bags and drinks. We take the food and sit at a small table.

"Thank you daddy,"

"You're very welcome Mija," he says with a smile. "Any news?"

"Not yet but soon I hope. Joaquin was upset that he can't bull ride for a while."

"I figured that much, he loves it so much."

"Daddy, I have a favor to ask."

"Sure Mija, what is it?"

"Make sure that he doesn't ride until Dr. Reyes clears him," I say biting my burger.

"I'll try my best mija; you know that he is stubborn as a mule."

"I know daddy but if he gets hurt again he may not be able to do it at all." I say and he nods drinking his coke.

"Guess what I heard today?"

"What?"

"Someone put the land where the lake is up for sale and it was already purchased; that fast," He says snapping his fingers. My heart falls a bit because that will always be my place with Joaquin. " I just hope they don't make any god damn shopping mall and leave it the way it is."

"Me too. Hey who was the owner of the land? Who bought it?"

"I haven't a clue. I never knew anyone owned it. We will just see what happens."

"I kinda of wanted to have our big wedding by the lake, it is our place," I say sadly.

"That would have been a nice place to have it." He says as the door opens. Dr. Reyes is smiling at us.

"He is waking up from surgery now; he is a bit loopy but he is just fine." He laughs. "Juliana I will let you back first and Hector I'll let you back in a second.

"Sure thing," daddy says.

I go back and I hear him before I can see him; he is being very loud so unlike Gordo. It makes me giggle. I hang back a bit and have a listen.

"Dr. Reyes went to get your wife Joaquin."

"Wait my wife? I'm married? Her name is Joaquin?" he asks very loud and confused.

"No my sweet child, your name is Joaquin and her name is Juliana." She laughs.

"Shut up I married Juliana Munoz? Damn she is fine as fuck. How the hell did I get lucky like that?"

"I should ask the same thing my love," I say with a giggle. "I'm the lucky one. How do you feel?"

"Wow you are finnnnnneee. Are you sure you are my wife?" he says with a groggy voice.

"Yes sir we sure are married. We had a small wedding but we will have a bigger one later. Now how are you feeling?"

"I'm feeling hella good," he drawls out. I take out my phone and turn on the video camera.

"Can you repeat that last part please?" I ask trying not to giggle.

"I said I feel hella good," he says. I got that on video I will show him tomorrow. "You want to get frisky with me?"

"Joaquin!"

"What? We are married; at least you told me we are. I want to knock you up!"

"Shhh baby," I say covering his mouth from saying anything crazy.

"I want to marry you again at my new place," he says in a whisper.

"You want to marry me in our townhouse?" I laugh.

"No I want to marry you on my new land." He says.

"Wait, what new land?" I ask.

I turn and look at him and he is passed out cold again. It couldn't be? Could it?
