Terrible Twos!

Oh my lord this is not happening; I thought she wanted a baby. Well she is having none of it; she climbs onto the couch and whines up at her daddy. He looks at her and smiles I guess to assure her it's okay. She stands up on the cushions and nuzzles her head into Joaquin which I think is cute. Out of nowhere the baby screams out and is crying hysterically. Joaquin looks down at baby Alexis and his eyes grow wide in alarm.

"Trinity! Did you bite the baby?!" he says through gritted teeth. She looks down and cries herself. He hands Alexis back to me. "Darlin' take baby girl back to her mama and let her know what happened. Tell them how sorry I am. I need to deal with this now."

"Okay baby, wait for me I need to be part of this conversation too," I say. I go and find Sabrina in the kitchen with Abuela. "Brina I am really sorry but Trinity bit Alexis's hand. I do not know what got into her."

"Oh no, it's okay, I mean it's not but things like this happen, " Sabrina says trying to soothe her. Changs walks in to see why his baby is crying. "Trinity bit the baby on her hand."

"Seriously? Oh shit is she okay. Lemme see her hand," he says. He looks her at her tiny hand and Trinity's teeth marks show perfectly. I feel horrible. "Let's put some ice on it."

"Good idea. I have to go and see what is going on with Trinity." I say.

I walk into the living room and Joaquin looks at me. He looks really upset; I caress his back in hopes it will calm him down a bit. Trinity will not look at either one of us. This little girl is trying us today.

"Trinity why did you do that? Why did you bite Alexis?" Joaquin asks. I can tell he is trying to remain calm. "I am going to ask you one more time why you did that baby girl?" She looks at him with a mad face and I do not know what the hell has gotten into her tonight; she slaps him in the face. "Are you kidding me right now? You're going to your room little girl." He snatches her up by one arm and takes her to her room all the while she is screaming.

"Trinity stop that screaming right this minute," I scold her. "You a very naughty girl tonight. You bit your cousin and hit daddy. That is a no no little Miss."

"No I NOT!" She screams and sticks her tongue at us. Her hands on her hips like a grown ass woman. "You stooopid mama."

"That's it!"Joaquin roars. "You don't talk to mama like that!" he grabs her swats her bottom. "You will stay in your room until I come and get you. You hear!" I know it kills him to punish her but he needs to put his foot down. She is crying a river for us. We leave the room and close the door we can still her cries.

"Ya'll didn't hit her did ya'll?" Changs asks.

"Not only did she bite Alexis, she slapped Joaquin the face and called me stupid." I say.

"What the fuck; wow!" Changs laughs. That gains him an arm swat from Sabrina. "Ouch babe."

"Looks like she is in the terrible twos early. She thinks she is a teenager." Daddy laughs.

"We are in so much trouble with that sassy mouthed child. I wonder where she gets it from?" Joaquin teases me.

"Oh no mister! Not even," I fight back even though I know it's true.

"Well who stands with their hands on their hips. It ain't me I know that for sure." He laughs and kisses me. "I love those hands on your hips Darlin." He whispers. I laugh and swat him too.

"When will she two Joaquin?" Changs asks.

"She is my cupid baby she was born on Valentine's day. Okay if you'll excuse us we need to go back into the lions den."

He opens the door and we peer in and see her siting on her knees on the floor. She is mumbling to herself; she is probably saying gee what assholes I have as parents. Joaquin clears his throat and she looks up at us. She stands up and runs over to us lifting her arms to her daddy.

"I saweeee dada," she say. She looks over at me and says "saweee mama you no stooopid."

"Thank you Trinity, you know why you got a pow pow?" Joaquin asks.

"I be mean to baby Lexis. I mean to dada. I mean to mama,"she says. "I naughty."

"You know we love you right?" he asks and she nod with fresh tears in her eyes. "Now you need to go say sorry to Nina, Nino and Alexis. Will hit or bite again?"

"No dada I not," she scoots out of his arms. She walks over to the door and Joaquin opens it for her. She sees Changs over by the kitchen. "Nino Angs I saweee." He bends down and picks her up.

"It's okay," he begins and notices her shirt. He looks at me and points at the shirt. "Are you fucking serious!"

"Ohhhh that naughty," Trinity says.

"Let's not talk about naughty right now," Changs laughs. "Is this for reals?"

"No it's for faksies, of course its real menso." I laugh. "Don't say anything yet I want to tell my Dad first. Baby girl why don't you go show Papa your new shirt."

"Otay mama," she says with a giggle and off she teeters to my dad. "Papa woook," She says pointing to her shirt.

"That's nice shirt Mijita, Let Papa read it. It says big sister," he realizes what he has just read. He is stopped in his tracks. I can tell he is getting emotional as he is wiping away at his eyes. "It's a beautiful shirt Mi Amor." I finally make it over to my daddy and he looks up at me. "Mija you have made me the happiest papa in the whole world. I know your mama would be so proud of the mama that you are."

"Daddy," Is all I can muster out and I'm mess of tear. I run into my daddy's arms. "I love you!"

I look around the room and everyone is noticing what I mess my daddy and I are. I just laugh and look at Joaquin; he just nods and knows exactly what to do. He walks over to us; man that strut is sexy as all hell. Phewwwww; it must be the hormones. He whistles loudly and a little too close to my ear I swat his arm and he chuckles.

"Sorry Darlin. Hey ya'll we have to something to tell ya'll. He begins as he picks up Trinity. "Hey can ya'll read her shirt from where ya'll are standing. If you can what does it say?"

It is hilarious watching them try to read the shirt but it's even funnier when they actually figure it out. They begin to cheer, jump and down and cry. I am beyond blessed to have the support system that I do and I would never change it for anything. As my tears stream down my face I am hopeful that things will begin to look up.

 it's been a crappy ( real crappy)  few days so writing this chapter brought me some happiness!
