I go around the truck and open my wife's door for her then I help her out. This gets me a long kiss on the lips which makes Trinity giggle in back.
"Mama besito dada," squeals in delight.
"Mama sure did kiss Daddy, didn't she?" I laugh.
"Uhh huhhh" she babbles.
"Need help with the wheel chair?" She asks.
"Naw Darlin; just get her going and I'll come and pick her up."
I fumble with the damn wheel chair and Guerro comes and helps me out. I am grateful he did; my shoulder is not behaving today at all. He looks at me with concern in his eyes; damn he knows.
"You need to get that shoulder checked out Bro," he says.
"I know I do but I need this to be done first; please don't tell Jules," I plead with him.
"All right but you know La Tejana has a bit a temper." He laughs.
"Shit, who you telling? I know she does. I will tell her after court today."
"You better because if you haven't noticed, she is watching you like a hawk."
He grabs Trinity as I pretend to fix up the wheel chair. He brings her over to the chair and puts her leg into position. She looks cute in the dress her mama picked for her to wear; hell dresses are all she will be able to wear for a while. He kisses the top of her head and fastens her seat belt.
"Now baby girl I need you to behave in there, you hear?" I say.
"Otay dada, I a good girl."
Jules comes over with the rest of the guys. The Gooch is holding hands with Santiago and my eyes go wide. I smile and laugh while waggling my eyebrows at them. Santiago's face gets all red and he chuckles.
"Shut up Joaquin," he laughs.
"Wait are you official-official?" Jules says clapping her hands.
"Yeah we are," Gooch smiles. "We have a lot to figure out but yeah."
"I am happy for ya'll," I say. I look at the court house entrance and sigh. "Let's get this shit over with."
I begin to wheel Trinity through the parking lot. As I reach the front door of the court house Trinity realizes where we are. She begins to scream and cry; she is having a full on meltdown. The panic on her face breaks my heart. Jules runs over and soothes her as best she can to no prevail.
"I no want it! I no want it" she screams. "Dada, mama no I no like it"
"Trinity only for a few minutes and we can go home, you want to go to the zoo and see a monkey?" Changs asks.
"A monkey?" I ask confused.
"Trust me," he looks up at me. "You to see a chango like Tio Changs at the zoo?"
"I monkey, I monkey" she says through sobs.
"Okay then, we have to go in there and then we will go see the Chango."
"Otay I go."
I wheel her in but I can still feel her fear. Jules takes her Chupi out of her bag and gives it her. She begins to self soothe with her pacifier. I pass the wheelchair to Sabrina who pushes her into the court room so I can have few minutes alone with Juliana.
"Baby you ready?"
"Yes and no. Do you mind if I pray real quick before we go in?"
"No babe, go right ahead."
