I sit up as fast as I can when she tells me her water just broke. My heart is pounding so hard in my chest I am so excited. I grab my walker and make my way over to her. I kiss her temple as I walk her over to the bed so that she can lay down where I just was. I have no clue that to do I look at her for guidance. She is quiet at first and all of the sudden she grabs for my hand a squeezes the shit of it. She moans out in pain and if feel helpless. I push the nurses call button.

"Can I help ya?" The friendly voice say.

"My wife broke her water. I mean her water broke and now she is in a lot of pain." I say full of panic and excitement.

"I'll be right in." she says. I grab her phone and call The Gooch.

"Joaquin, what's up?" she asks.

"Jules water just broke! Oh my God this is really gonna happen. We are gonna have a baby!" I say.

"Oh my god, I will be right there. I am going to leave Trinity with Brit." She says in an almost scream. It makes me laugh. I hang up and dial Hector.

"Suegro! It's baby time!" I begin. He had to go back to Laredo last night to deal with Goliath.

"I'm on my way!" he shouts and hangs up. A nurse comes in and she is an older woman that is exuding happiness and she hums a little song. I like her instantly.

"Juliana, let's see if you are dilated any?" she says and Jules breathes out in pain again.

"Okay," Jules says breathless. Another contraction contorts her face and hand. I kiss her forehead gently. The nurse puts on a pair of blue exam gloves and checks her.

"Okay, it looks like you are four to five centimeters dilated. Pretty quick for your first baby." The nurse smiles.

"What does dilated mean?" I ask feeling so dumb. I wasn't there when Trinity was born.

"So basically means that you have to dialted to ten in order to push the baby out," she says getting out these circle things. "See here this tiny one is one and the big circle is ten. Ten is fully dilated and the baby usually comes out at ten."

"Interesting," I say. As everyone comes back into the room.

"Juliana, would you be wanting an epidural?" the nurse asks.

"Hell yes," She says. Making us all laugh.

"I will put the order in and they will be with you soon. Another question, who will be staying in the room when you deliver?"

"My husband and Cecilia." She says pointing to Gooch. The guys already said they did not need to see her like that.

I feel horrible that she is in so much pain; my poor hand is already bruising. Wow, she got a grip on her. The anesthesiologist comes in to put in her epidural. The Gooch help her because I can't hold her the way they want me too. So I leave the room for a bit with the guys and they help me change into blue scrubs that they are making us wear. I go back and Jules has a look of calm since the pain is gone away. I go and kiss her tenderly. She looks down at my very red hand and she laughs.

"I'm so sorry, babe, the pain was unreal." She laughs.

"I understand darling, get rest. Sleep now," I say.

I can't sit or stand to long so the nurses bring me a bed to lay on from time to time. The Gooch and I decide to take a nap she sleeps on the pull out couch. I feel someone touch my shoulder and that is surreal because of few days prior I couldn't feel a damn thing. God is Good. I look to see who touched me and it's the nurse. Her name is Linda.
