As we cross the water, Tazuna explains everything. He explains how Gato finds him a hindrance and wants him dead and how the Land of Waves was too poor to pay for a B-rank request. I didn't mind helping the old man because I know he lied for the good of his people.
"Well, if you pull out of the mission when I land ashore, I will, no doubt be killed. Killed sometime before I make it home, but there's no need for concern! If I die, my cute grandchild who's turning eight will only cry his heart out! And my daughter will only blame the Hidden Leaves Shinobi for the rest of her life and grieve in solitude!" he fake-cries. I sweat-drop. Honestly... We would've helped him either way.
Kakashi thinks for a moment and replies, "I guess we have no choice. Let's continue as his bodyguards."
"Oh, I am most thankful!" he thanks and then snickers to the side. This old man...
We finally arrive at the Land of the Waves a few minutes later. The boat stops at a deck and jump out. We thanked the man that brought us here and watch him leave.
"Okay! Get me home safely!" Tazuna cheers. I roll my eyes and we head off. Sasuke and I walk in the front. Sakura walks behind us to keep an eye on us. Naruto walks by Sakura and Kakashi walks behind us.
"So, how about we go out to dinner when we get back to Konoha?" suggests Sasuke.
I hear Sakura shriek behind us.
"NO SASUKE-KUN BUT I LOVE YOU!" she screams loudly.
I send her an irritated glance and look back at her dear "Sasuke-kun".
I fake-gasp, "Is Uchiha Sasuke asking me out on a date?"
He smirks, "Maybe."
"Well, if you are, you have to be a hella lot more creative than that", I tease, amused.
He looks at me in frustration.
"Stop giving me that look. You look like you're constipated", I tease.
Lie. He looked absolutely adorable, but it's not like I'm admitting that.
"Sasuke-kun! I don't think you look constipated!" Sakura shouts out.
Sasuke doesn't even glance back at her, but his face showed annoyance. I resist turning around and smacking her face.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, Naruto sprints forward, taking out a kunai and throws it at a bush. Everybody freezes up. What the actual f**k was that?
"Oh, it was just a mouse", Naruto says coolly.
"Don't scare us like that!" screams both Sakura and Tazuna.
"Please don't use kunais so recklessly", Kakashi begs. Abruptly, he narrows his eyes to the side. There was an unknown chakra following us the whole time. Dammit! How could I be so foolish?
"There!" Naruto yells as he throws another kunai towards the bushes, where the chakra was located.
This chakra seemed so familiar in a way. I walk towards the bushes to see a white bunny, terrified. White. Snow. It's not winter. Crap, I look at Kakashi with a cautious look. Sasuke caught part of it and tenses up. I walk out a little further to search for the chakra. I close my eyes. I hear Naruto apologizing to the fraud bunny. Tazuna sighs in relief. I couldn't sense the chakra anymore. The person completely hid any trace of him.
"Kakashi... This one will be a strong one..." I whisper warningly.
"I know."
I scan my eyes across the trees and found a figure, ready to throw his freakishly large sword at us.
