Recap:

All of the fear building up slowly turns into hate, anger, revenge. He had to die.

"So how are my dearest niece and nephew? I hope life is doing you well."

---

A low growl escapes my throat. He was playing with us.

"You know... You two caused me a lot of trouble. First, you, Rina. I couldn't find you for the longest time and just when I had located you in Konoha, you left for the Akatsuki. That just complicates things more since they are virtually untraceable. Even then, you defeated every assassin I have sent. Your strength is commendable", he comments.

When I don't say anything, he continues, "And you, Kukai. I didn't even know you were alive. I only had rumors of you being alive. They weren't even rumors, just people noticing your resemblance to Prince Kukai of the Hidden Crystal, brother of the Princess. Although, that was enough for me. The Nakama don't go down easily, no? Your meddlesome mother definitely made it difficult for me to find you both."

"Are you done?" I grit out.

"Oh, of course! You are welcome to speak! We are family after all", Keiji grins fakely, gesturing to me.

I only point the katana closer to his throat. He chuckles and pushes the tip away from his face.

"I don't want to talk. I'd rather cease your talking", I murmur, tilting my head to the side, "I know you're into fashion and I heard the latest style is dead. I think you'll look marvelous as a corpse."

Although he was older than my father, he looked quite young, younger than him even. The Nakama features were prominent. He had a dazzling smile and stupid dimples that accentuates his perfect cheekbones. If the Nakama clan had a cover model, it would probably be him.

But underneath those enhancing looks was a cruel, nasty old man with no soul. He draws you in with his charm, then treats you like trash.

"I think that's one trend I'll stay away from", he laughs curtly.

I scowl, "Stop messing around."

"I'm only here to discuss matters with the both of you", he states simply, leaning back in his seat.

"Talking is not an option", grunts my brother.

"I'm sure you'll like what I have to say. I'm giving the both of you a chance. A new beginning, in other words, to rule along my side. I thought since you two put up a good fight, I might let you have some of the glory", he smirks.

The both of us stay silent. He can't be serious.

"Considering my offer?"

"No. I'm just trying to stop myself from throwing up in your face."

I watch his face contort in displeasure for a brief second before calming down. The teasing look on his face was replaced by an eerily serious look.

"I was hoping it wouldn't come to this", he sighs, standing up slowly.

He reaches under the desk and pulls out a large bag. The metal inside clinks together when he throws the back in front of us, revealing our taken weapons.

"Take it. You'll need it to play our little game", he states coldly, "It's time to see how the Akatsuki has been treating you both."

I touch my obsidian katana carefully, watching for a trap.

"TAKE IT!" he barks.

"Hai. Hai. Tch. Don't get your panties in a twist", I grumble.

His eye twitches as he watches me and my brother retrieve my weapons. He's furious. Absolutely furious. He hated when things didn't go as planned, but I had a feeling that he had already expected this.
