Here is Chapter 27 :)

I do not own Marvel :(

Everything had settled down and everyone was silent. Until…

Jane began to move unconsciously toward the front of the ship. Tora stood up quickly, startled by Jane’s movement. The Aether’s crimson red shone in her eyes. She raised her right arm and pointed with her index finger in a ‘forward’ direction.

‘Jane.’ Thor said, concerned.

‘Malekith.’ She murmured unconsciously. Bringing the ship to a slow halt, Loki glanced at Thor as if to nod in synchronised agreement. Thor explained the plan briskly before we slowed down enough to land. I took deep breaths and looked at Tora, she glared at me and nodded, we knew it was time.

We carefully stepped out of the ship, Loki being the last to let his feet touch the powered rumble of Svartalfheim, the mountain edge.

We slowly crept to the surface of the mountain edge, just out of sight of Malekith if we bent down. Malekith exited the safety of the mother ship, his henchmen following behind him. Everyone stood up apart from Loki. Thor turned to Jane.

‘Alright, are you ready?’ He worryingly questioned her. Jane nodded slightly, she knew the plan but she was getting weaker every minute.

‘I am.’ Loki cunningly answered, ready for action. This wasn’t a good sign.

I looked over to Tora and she gave me a weak smile, was this really going to work?

Slowly rising from the mountain peak, we revealed ourselves as Malekith turned to face us. His eyes were dark with anticipation. His pale skin reflecting darkness, glistening in Svartalfheim.

‘You know this plan of yours is going to get us killed.’ Loki stated ingeniously. He grinded his wrists in the metallic shackles, proving that they were bothering him.

‘Yes, possibly.’ Thor said, truthfully, glancing toward Loki. Loki wasn’t slow to raise his hands in the air, willingly waiting for them to be unshackled.

‘You still don’t trust me, brother?’ Loki inferred at Thor’s doubting look. He said brother, again, the Loki I knew would never say that…

‘Would you?’ Thor questioned, waiting for an answer. He gave in and unfastened the metallic shackles that bound Loki’s wrists together. Loki was free…

‘No I wouldn’t.’ Loki answered mischievously, extracting a hidden dagger from his attire in the process.

Before Thor could react to Loki’s scheming attitude, Loki withdrew his dagger, harshly stabbed him, causing Thor to crumble in pain. Loki took the advantage of the injured Thor. He roughly grabbed him by his armour and threw him off the cliff, sending him tumbling through the rumble, toward the ground. Loki wasn’t short to follow; he pounced into action and followed Thor’s tracks, skidding down the rubble.

‘Thor! NO!’ Jane cried out in pain. Tora and me tried to comfort her and hold her back. She pushed us aside and followed them. We rushed down the mountain after her.

I glanced at Malekith as I ran down the mountain (whilst trying not to fall down the mountain instead). He stared as Thor eventually plummeted to the ground, Loki swiftly behind.

Thor tried to squirm away from the uncontrollable rage of Loki. It was no use, he was hurt, and Loki had the upper hand.

‘You really think I cared about Frigga, about any of you?’ He spat, gaining on Thor. Loki withdrew his leg and kicked Thor into the other direction. Thor crumbled to the ground even more so.

‘All I ever wanted was you and Odin dead at my feet.’ He carried on, as if it wasn’t much to ask for. At this moment in time, we were almost down the mountain as Tora tripped, just like we had rehearsed. I scurried in her direction as she tumbled down the rest of the cliff. She had learnt to do it safely, so that she didn’t get hurt in the karate class she went to every week back on Earth.

Thor looked up at Loki, pleading for mercy, water straining in his eyes. He outstretched his hand in an attempt to summon mjolnir, leaving his hand… unprotected. Loki rose his small but mighty dagger into the air and with one swift movement… Thor’s hand was left unattached to his wrist.

Even though I knew this was all an act, part of me acted as though it were real.

Tora’s body lay at the bottom of the slope, not moving and with her back towards me. I rushed to her side and tried to wake her up. Tears rolled down my cheeks, dripping off the top of my nose and chin. Her eyes began to open slowly, revealing that she was still alive. My mouth ripped into a thankful smile and I wiped my eyes quickly. She was okay, thank heavens. I pulled her up, her arms were dusty and her face didn’t have its usual perfect flawless skin. She had dust over her cheeks and bruises were starting to form, but if she hadn’t been taking karate lessons it could have been a whole lot worse. Her right arm was taken across my shoulders, as she struggled to get up.

We looked across to Thor and Loki. Loki grabbed Jane and was now bringing her toward Malekith who had acknowledged that she possessed the aether.

‘Malekith!’ Loki snarled. ‘I am Loki of Jotunheim, and I bring you a gift!’ He proudly finished. He did this all too well… He harshly threw Jane to Malekith’s feet.

‘I only ask for one thing in return, a good seat in which to watch Asgard burn!’ He announced his offer, watching as Malekith recognised he was an enemy of Asgard.

The bigger more striking looking Dark Elf said something to Malekith in a native tongue. Malekith approached Thor’s pain filled body lying restless on the ground.

‘Look at me.’ Malekith ordered in a deep and hardly recognisable voice. He used his foot to turn Thor around so that he laid facing upward. Malekith wanted Thor to watch as he acquired such a divine power and then use it to destroy him.

Lifting Jane into the air with forceful magic, me and Tora kept our distance a few metres away. The aether was then extracted out of Jane. Her arms slowly rose up as more and more seeped out of her. It’s structural formation was disintegrating as Malekith pulled it from her. After every last bit had been exposed and extracted from her, it was time for action.

Loki watched in awe as Malekith finally gained the aether into the atmosphere as it surged amongst the air. Jane collapsed to the ground, her body was hopefully going to regain strength soon.

The emission red matter manoeuvred in the air like it weighed nothing. It’s unique and unfamiliar caught the eye of Loki as he unconsciously moved toward it in fascination.

Thor raised his head, catching a glance at the aether now that it was exposed, Jane’s eyes followed. We were all thinking the same thing, I didn’t need to read anyone’s mind to know that.

Loki, NOW!
