Yay! Chapter 14 OMIGOSH the feels!
I don't own Marvel only Tora and Loti.
I sat on a balcony ledge, I was perched carefully on so that I didn’t fall off. Frigga was using magic in one of the nearby rooms in order to communicate with Loki. I glanced over looking Asgard, it was amazing, and their civilisation was so advanced.
After reading the book I had found in the library for five minutes, I decided to go and check on the Queen, just to see what she was up to.
I walked silently into the small room, she had her back turned and there was a hologram of Loki above a burning fire pit. He must be somewhere in Asgard, maybe a cell I thought.
‘He is NOT MY FATHER!’ I heard the Loki hologram shout, pain inside the core of his voice, his face filled with anger and hatred. After a few moments passed as I swallowed my breath realising Frigga hadn’t noticed me a few feet behind her and this wasn’t the best time to say anything. An awkward lump was concealed inside my throat, I found it hard not to make a sound let alone hold my breath but I persevered watching the conversation flow with little ease if any. The silence was interrupted.
‘Then am I not your mother?’
Frigga replied, silently knowing she would be hurt with the answer she was going to be given.
‘You’re not.’ Loki replied, sincerely. I wasn’t sure if he was lying or not, I could never tell with Loki. I wanted to comfort Frigga but knew that if she knew I was here I would be beyond dead.
Frigga only smiled, disguising the hurt in her soul.
‘Always so perceptive about everyone but yourself.’ She said hesitantly.
Loki tried not to show any emotion and held back biting his lip, but tears still filled his eyes. He then looked down at the ground after realising she was only a hologram.
The hologram disappeared leaving Loki with so much pain.
Frigga turned around, the tears had now left her eyes but you could still tell she had almost been crying.
‘Oh Loti, it’s only you.’ She beamed, she seemed a bit startled.
‘I’m really sorry, I didn’t mean to-.’ I began feeling very out of place and guilty.
‘It’s okay.’ She said kindly and beautifully, she continued to disguise the hurt and sorrow as Thor walked into the room.
‘He will only disappoint you.’ He exclaimed, this was from a side of Thor I had never seen before. The side filled with regret of the past, maybe even slight compassion for his brother. ‘Why indulge him. The gifts. The visits.’ Or not.
‘I think if you ask the guards they will tell you I was never there.’ She replied glancing at me, she knew about my abilities, but how? I thought. ‘What would you have me do? I am his mother and his is my son. I loved you no less when you were banished.’ She had a point, I guess.
‘Our crimes were hardly equal.’ Thor was quick to point out. He sighed and carried on talking whilst I watched them following them over to the balcony where I was sitting before. ‘Do you ever regret teaching him your magic?’
‘You and your father cast long shadows.’ Thor didn’t seem offended by her saying this so she carried on. ‘I had only hoped that by sharing my gifts with Loki he could witness some sun for himself.’ Thor didn’t seem to understand but I did, I could relate.
‘But you were wrong.’ Thor implied sounding the slightest bit rude, but Frigga didn’t take it offensively. I decided to speak not thinking about what I was about to say.
‘Not many people can see into the future Thor.’ I said calmly and quietly from behind them, knowing they were both listening. ‘She didn’t know that Loki would use his magic as an advantage for his twisted ways.’ Thor seemed to understand now and regretted saying she was wrong.
Frigga turned and nodded to me in agreement and then turned her attention back to Thor who said-
‘You still see the good in him don’t you?’ Thor remarked, waiting patiently for an answer. She replied-
‘I see glimmers of light I thought long extinguished.’
