Chapter 16

Chapter 16 yayayayayayayaya!!!

‘The prison.’ She said her eyes becoming wider as she spoke, looking at Thor knowing he knew what to do.

‘Loki.’ Thor announced, looking back at his mother, his voice wasn’t filled with concern but Frigga’s was.

‘Go, I will look after them.’ Jane said, referring to each of us.

Thor grabbed onto Mjolnir and flew in the direction of the prison, leaving the four of us in awe and panic. He glided elegantly and eventually out of our sight.

We swiftly followed Frigga through the palace corridors, past warriors and squadrons. She paused slightly, seeing the King commanding Asgardians to go to the weapons vault.

‘Odin.’ She said managing to speak out of confusion and adrenaline moving fast in her bloodstream.

‘Frigga…’ He began, going off topic he shouted, ‘Go!’ firmly and abruptly to the guards. Her turned back to Frigga, anger hidden in the old King’s eyes. ‘It’s just a skirmish, nothing to fear.’

Although fear was written right across his face. He was lying and Frigga knew.

‘You’ve never been a good liar.’ Frigga amusingly uttered as another load of warriors passed us, covered in armour.

‘Take her to your chambers, I’ll come for you when it’s safe.’ Odin added, hoping the battle wouldn’t amount to much more than a simple fight.

‘You take care.’ She spoke abruptly.

‘Despite all I have survived my Queen still worries for me.’ Odin said, acknowledging her concern.

‘It’s only because I worry over you that you have survived.’ The Queen corrected, finishing their short conversation.

I watched Odin walk down the hall full of pride, a handful of guards following his every move. Just as the last troops disappeared, Frigga grasped a the last soldier’s weapon and he let go allowing her to have it, knowing she would need it as she began to walk swiftly down the hall. We paced behind Jane who followed behind the Queen. Adrenaline began to pour into my bloodstream and I held out my hands realising I was shaking. Calm down, like Odin said it’s just a skirmish nothing to fear I told myself, ignoring the fact that he was lying at the time.

‘Listen to me now.’ She stated firmly. ‘I need you to do everything I ask and no questions.’

I understood the serious consequences if we didn’t and no one needed reminding.

‘Yes Ma’am.’ Jane replied, clearly, although she was in shock.

‘Yes.’ Tora and I agreed.
