I'm so sorry if I have destroyed you with feels! :'(
Enjoy and I don't own Marvel :)
‘Loki, now!’
Loki extended his arm and suddenly Thor’s hand reappeared, an emerald glow of magic surrounding it. He then proceeded to quickly summon mjolnir. Now that it was in his hand, he raised the hammer to the sky, beckoning sparse amounts of lightning. The lighting swirled in the sky before he directed it towards the aether in the little time we had. Loki observed his actions and quickly protected Jane. Tora and me, crouched to the ground and huddled, our arms over one another. We kept our heads down during the huge explosion between lightning and red matter.
We looked up towards where the aether had once been, just when Loki and Jane looked up. Tiny bits of red glass lay underneath where the aether had been. It was now shards of a million tiny pieces, it was destroyed! We had done it!
Or at least we thought we had.
The tiny shards rose up simultaneously, as Thor glanced around as puzzled as we were. Was it still alive?
Before any of us could say or do anything, the aether rose up further and further into the atmosphere. It’s bloodshot fragments began to bound themselves together. Malekith extended a welcoming hand. The aether made its way towards him. Malekith absorbed the power, as if it were made for him. He lifted his head revealing dark crimson eyes just as Jane’s were.
Turning to walk back into the ship, Malekith held the stunned gaze at Thor before turning to approach him. Two dark elves, however, intervened. Thrusting his hammer into the jaw of one, the other tried to strike before he smashed it into his face. Algrim watched as Thor began to advance on Malekith who was now in the safety of the mother ship.
Algrim swiftly threw one of his vortex grenades into the air, right in front of Jane. Loki ran unexpectedly in front of Jane, offering his life instead of hers. Loki was suddenly drawn backward into the vortex that was suddenly created. Tora and I rushed forward, in a pathetic attempt to help.
Thor watched as Loki risked his life to save a mere mortal. Before the darkness engulfed Loki, Thor ran for his brother’s life. Thor lunged towards Loki pushing him with force onto the dark rubble below. Opening his eyes, he noticed Thor had saved him. Then he looked towards Algrim’s angered form.
Algrim stepped forward before beginning to fight Thor. After a few strikes from mjolnir, Thor was thrown back a great distance. I glanced back towards Tora, who had withdrawn her sword. The dark elves advanced on us, quickening their pace as my heart beat quickened in time. I withdrew my dagger from the hidden sleeve in my gold cuff on my left wrist, ready for them.
Loki slaughtered one on the spot before my attention was drawn from him to the dark elf that was advancing on me. I disappeared right in front of its eyes before reappearing behind its distracted form. I struck its back with as much strength as I could. I didn’t want to, but if I wanted to live so I had no choice other than to kill it.
Suddenly something grabbed me and held a small sword at my neck, another second longer and my throat would be slit. Its grip was loosened as I heard it cry out in pain, before a soft collapse to the ground. I turned around to see Tora, in a stance like she had just killed it, dark grey-red blood on her sword, and a dark elf sprawled out on the ground.
‘Watch your back.’ She said firmly, sharply slicing the last of the surrounding elves.
‘Yeah, thanks.’ I replied.
We peered up to the sky at the same time. Malekith’s ship was gone. He had gotten away. His next location: Earth.
It was too late. Malekith had taken the aether with him.
Loki snapped the neck of the last elf he had to face. He glanced towards us after gazing in Thor’s direction, as if he was signalling help, not for him, for Thor. I kept my eyes on Thor as we made our way to him. Algrim had managed to get him on the ground, he was all but defenceless. Mjolnir was a few feet away but permanently out of his reach. Loki had been quicker than us and much closer to Thor.
As Thor met the eyes of his fatal death, Algrim sharply groaned in discomfort before turning to the source of the pain. Behind him stood Loki. He realised he was the one who had impaled him through the back. Loki’s calculating eyes darkened. He had saved Thor.
But at the cost of his own life.
Without warning, Algrim roughly clasped Loki’s shoulders and harshly pulled his body into the blade’s sharp aftermath. Loki groaned in discomfort before he was cruelly tossed to the ground. Only then did Algrim realise that Loki had attached Algrim’s own vortex grenade to the blade. I breathed heavily, running as quick as I could. Seeing all this from a distance in shock, I only just managed to realise that I could teleport. I didn’t care if Algrim was there, Loki was hurt.
‘See you in hell, monster!’ Loki gritted through his teeth, clutching his wounds.
Algrim abruptly roared before the device exploded. He was finally destroyed. As Algrim vanished, I appeared next to Loki.
‘You’re okay, okay, okay, okay…’ My worried voice faded out as my eyes made their way from Loki’s face to the very deep wound. Loki could only stare into the sky making me even more worried if it were possible. I got up and stood next to Tora who had finally got here as Thor rushed to Loki’s side.
‘No,no.’ Thor concerning mumbled, kneeling by his side, pulling him into his calming arms and resting him in their security. ‘You fool, you didn’t listen!’ Thor said as if it were his fault. My heart thumped against my ribs, almost breaking them. My eyes began to water, into unstoppable tears, pouring with vengeance down my cheeks. A million emotions ran through me, doing somersaults in my brain. The tears ran to my chin where they dripped to the dusty ground. Loki’s hands began to shake uncontrollably, as uncontrollable as my tears.
‘I know, I’m a fool.’ He quivered in shock and pain.
‘Stay with me. Stay!’ Thor harshly ordered. He knew this was the end; we all knew.
‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry…’ He uttered his eyes and voice drifting into the dark sky above. His frantic and shivering actions began to still.
Thor hushed him. ‘It’s alright. I’ll tell father what you did here today.’
Loki’s breathing calmed. His father wasn’t Odin and he knew that. I knew that. Well, only because I asked Thor because I’m into mythology. I was so scared of what he might say next. I held my breath. If I could of died instead of him, I would have.
‘I didn’t do it for him.’ He breathlessly uttered. This was the end. His skin turned ash grey as a result of the Dark Elvin sword having spliced into him. Through his whole body. Ending him, there and then.
His eyes eventually shut as Thor cried out in anguish, leaving Jane, Tora and me to only watch.
He was gone.
