Oh, ok, mãe (Oh, ok mum), Evena sighed.

Evena heard her mother mutter something under her breath before closing her eyes. Você deve andar (You should walk), Evenas mum demanded. "No!" Evena cried looking at her, before suddenly cowering and sweating as her mums eyes turned in to a steel shade of dead green. What did you say? her words like chicken sizzling on the BBQ. Nothing, mum, Evena looked away and wiped her thighs.

*1 HOUR LATER*

Evena calmly checked her watch. Her mum had dropped her off and left almost immediately. It was 8:56am. A few more minutes of homeroom. Evena sighed and decided to go to her first class which was Maths. There was no Math's exam. Just a weekly pop quiz. After math's was French classes. That was the only thing Evena was good at. Evena checked her hair in a mirror in her locker before shutting it and turning around, only to be face to face with her best friend. Jay Philips was the only one nice to her. He was cute with pink lips, light tan skin, big blue eyes, nerdy black-rimmed glasses and messy unruly brown hair.

Jay was the nerd of the school. And Evena only passed because of him. He could be considered as her best friend. People hated the pair of them. Evena never understood why. Evena had liked him ever since she first saw him in year 1. "Jay! Hey," Evena forced a smile. Jay never had any problems like Evena, his family was perfect, but he was the most nicest guy in the world and understood her. Evena had talked to him too many times to be able to not blush. But her heart fluttered at his sight. "Hey Evena, not a happy morning?" he asked, sadness flashing in his eyes with a mix of understanding.

"Not the worst, but not the best either," Evena shrugged and they walked together to Math. Evena's smile soon came naturally as Jay went back to explaining how he figured out a new concept or something...
