Evena refused to back down now. But she did soften. A bit.

"Why did you kill him? Why?" Evena begged for an answer. Her mother looked away, her green eyes filled with guilt. "He didn't know, he wouldn't let me drink blood, and without blood i would die. I was so selfish at the time. So i lost control, and it just happened. Because i wanted to be alive for you," she hesitated for a moment before added softly, "But i was afraid i would kill you to, I couldn't have that happen to you, so i decided to hate you because I thought you were the reason why he died, but instead of killing you, i full-filled my anger through more humanely ways."

Evena's eyes were brimmed with tears now. Cherry had been right. "That's a stupid excuse, it's so pathetic, i can't," she shook her head, tears silently dancing down her cheeks. "You wasted all those years, all that time i could've been happy, you could've been happy," Evena choked on the next words, "we could've been happy." Evena mother sighed and looked at her, guilty, sad and regret was all over her face.

"I'm so sorry, it was all to quick, i'm so sorry," she pleaded, "i will change, i can change, for you, we can be one family again!" Evena shook her head and laughed sarcastically, "You're apologising now aren't you?" then Evena's face became grave. "You expect, me to forgive you, when you killed my dad, hurt me physically and mentally for 4 years?"

Evena shook her head again and turned around and rested her hand on the doorknob, look back at her tear-stained guilty mother "I'm sorry, but i can't. I can't forgive, or  forget. You ruined my life. The most important years of my life. I, can't forgive you. You're a monster!!"

"Evena please, wait!" her mother begged. "I can make up to it, i'm sorry!" and Evena caught a glimpse of her mother's fangs. It was just a second but Evena knew they were there.

Evena turned around and thrust open the door with one final glance back at her mother and her house and all her memories Evena threw the house one last smile and said to her pleading mother ,who's eyes were filled with love and sadness and her face showed regret and the slightest chance of hope, with her voice laced in sadness and anger:

"Everyone's sorry when they loose something,"

And Evena walked out like she owned the land out in to the fuzzy grey sky as the clouds melt together and the heavy rain started to fall. Mixing with her tears and pressing her hair against her scalp. Evena soaked in the rain as she walked towards the city on foot without a single glance back at the house, but turned around to smile at the forest before walking again.

Her whole life had been coated in lies, but she still had plenty more life to live.

And those were the final words Evena said to her mother as she walked out with a real smile on her face.

And for no reason at all, Evena started laughing. Because she didn't need a reason anymore.
