Jay's mouth was set in a firm frown and hot anger blazed in his blue eyes. Once they were outside a bakery and near the curb Jay shrugged off his leather jacket and put it on Evena's trembling shoulders. The water was ice cold and it felt like it was going inside of her. Evena looked up, grateful and managed a smile. Jay relaxed and they sat on the curb. Evena leaned against Jay, grateful for him and closed her eyes. He tensed but didn't move.

"Mama!" 5-year-old Evena rushed over and hugged her mama as she appeared through the doors. Her green eyes smiling, her lips curving in to a smile and her glossy hair flickering in the wind. Her mother drops her bag on the counter and kneels down, wrapping her arms around her precious little daughter. They laugh as they hug each other tightly and her mama kisses her all over, "My darling, my blossom, my ocean," she whispers with each kiss. Her dad appears, strong and broad. Brown eyes, coyote brown hair and a sharp nose. Evena's parents kiss as she makes a "yuck" face and laugh when they see her. Evena smiles and walks over to them, as her father picks her up and they go to the couch.
